Palatka Golf Club

About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

Nice to be back
Really interesting course ups, downs, doglegs, challenging par 3s, rough a little bumpy.
We’L definitely B back
Been over seeded for winter play lush but a bit slow.
Helpful, friendly staff
Great improvements!
Course has definitely been given some TLC! Best hotdog at the turn in the State of FL! Just a great time. Play here!
Awesome Donald Ross design but poorly maintained
It was amazing to play this classic Donal Ross design! The layout is original and green complexes are classic Ross! A really fun layout on a unique property.
Such a shame that the course conditions are so poor. Bunkers are in bad shape....tee decks are poor, greens have funky different and uneven grasses growing on them. This course would be such a gem with some reasonable upkeep. Staff was great but can't cover up the deficiencies.
Well worth the $35
This is a bit of a hidden gem I think. $35 including a cart is very reasonable. The course is very playable and pleasant. Pace was very good and we could play at our pace even though there were only 2 of us. Having a guy playing solo behind us (with his dog), and then a couple behind him (with their toddler) were 2 things we’d never seen before on a golf course, but hey, we’re in Florida….so, let’s just roll with it. Tee boxes were a little rough as were most greens, but all in all it was a decent day of golf.
Staff
The staff were absolutely the friendliest an knowledgeable people to work with enjoy speaking to them as much as playing well almost 😂
Great round if you’re in the area
Although the greens were pretty rough, the wide open course was green and a really fun round to play. The staff was extremely friendly, and it was priced well with the coupon app. A beautiful area, I wouldn’t necessarily travel hours to play here, but as we passed through, it was a great find! Would recommend or play here again, if in the area.
How does this course rate above a 2
I have been playing golf for 40+ years and have played hundreds of courses. The condition of this course is well within my bottom 5 and I've can't think of any that are worse. Tee boxes overgrown, fairways burnt out and a temporary green that was on par with the rest. The slowest greens I think I've ever played. I can't understand why these greens are so slow, they're cut down to dirt practically, but the ball goes about half as far as on a decent green.
This course should be free to play until it gets sorted out.
The course is a challenge with lots of hills and bends. Considering a hurricane had just gone through a few days before it was in great shape.
Not a bad course.
It could be great if it was taken better care of. Particularly the 1st hole without grass and the 12th hole (par 3) which is essentially ALL dirt are the main offenders. The grass was pretty long, but its summer in FL, so ill give them a break. Aside from that, its a fun course and I recommend it.
Fun course
Other than the pace of play being a little slow. Nice place. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was nice. I’ll be back for sure.
