Palatka Golf Club
About
Neighbor to the beautiful Ravine State Gardens, Palatka Golf Club offers a game that is as scenic as it is entertaining. Designed by Donald Ross in 1925, the golf course was created with all skill levels of golfers in mind. The layout is player friendly, but there are still many challenging elements to keep golfers on their toes, including Ross' signature "turtleback" greens. There are also numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the greens. The signature hole of the course is the par-3 third. This 188-yard hole is a test of accuracy, requiring a difficult tee shot to a well bunkered green. Palatka Golf Club also offers a unique aqua driving range for golfers to use.

How does this course rate above a 2
I have been playing golf for 40+ years and have played hundreds of courses. The condition of this course is well within my bottom 5 and I've can't think of any that are worse. Tee boxes overgrown, fairways burnt out and a temporary green that was on par with the rest. The slowest greens I think I've ever played. I can't understand why these greens are so slow, they're cut down to dirt practically, but the ball goes about half as far as on a decent green.
This course should be free to play until it gets sorted out.
The course is a challenge with lots of hills and bends. Considering a hurricane had just gone through a few days before it was in great shape.
Not a bad course.
It could be great if it was taken better care of. Particularly the 1st hole without grass and the 12th hole (par 3) which is essentially ALL dirt are the main offenders. The grass was pretty long, but its summer in FL, so ill give them a break. Aside from that, its a fun course and I recommend it.
Fun course
Other than the pace of play being a little slow. Nice place. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was nice. I’ll be back for sure.
Staff / Amenities
The staff wasn't friendly and was very scarce. The guy in the pro shop acted as if he hated his job. There's no beverage cart service on the course but the restaurant bar area was closed by the time we got to hole 9. We had a late tee time but still if there's players on the course and you're taking tee-times you should have the staff and amenities to service your guests.
Could use a little landscaping
The grass in the rough was so high I couldn’t find my balls other than that it wasn’t so bad. They could probably spray for bugs bc I have never concentrated so hard on not getting bugs in my ears and everything else than I did Sunday. Overall I wish the rough had been cut down a little bit I get it it’s the rough but it was kind of bad. Would like to come back in the winter months and give it another try.
Great condition
Other than some bumpy greens from aeration the course is in great shape!
Greens are in bad shape.
Greens were all sand. Cost me a half dozen strokes at least. I aske for assistance with slow pace and was refused. It’s a shame. Classic course that seems to be attended by the wrong people.
Tee boxes and greens
Place needs to be worked on badly. Greens had emany bald spots, tee boxes were very weedy. At times it was hard to tell what was the fair or the rough area. Very disappointed as I had invited friends to play the course.
