Mr Palmer would be in tears
Although I heard from other reviews that the greens were horrible, I still came to play as it was an Arnold Palmer designed course
The layout was fabulous, with every hole having its own characteristic. Especially loved the Par 3 designs
Fairways were good enough to play ball down although some areas around the fringes were a bit bare
Bunkers we’re all raked
But Mr Palmer would be in tears if he ever saw the condition of the greens! Almost had to play “ automatic two putts “. Not sure what the problem is as I have played several other local courses. At least four greens were partially roped off because condition was so bad
Quarter sized green grass ( foreign) dot each green with dormant grass creates condition of your putts bouncing
Wish I knew more about agronomy
The course was bad
We had a group of 4 young players in front of us with only 3 sets of clubs. We had to wait on them at every hole The greens were bad. When putting it felt like I was playing Plinko on the Price is Right There were clumps of grass on the greens so the ball would bounce off those clumps when I putted
Great layout, but greens are awful……worse than last year…..
greens are bad
this would be one of the most challenging greens in the county only if they kept them up.All the greens had many clusters of weeds making putts move off line EVERY time. not worth the money. daytona public keeps their greens better.
anyone
I love this course so much I had to see it once again...WELL! The owners have done it well, they have KILLED a great golf course....it is BY FAR the worst conditioned golf course within 100 miles......$50.00 for this DUMP...They shouldjust shut it down......Arnold Palmer. . gave us so much......and these OWNERS have need to put a headstone out front instead of an OPEN FOR PLAY SIGN...it should say WELCOME TO OUR LANDFILL!!!!!!!!!!...DO YOURSELEVES A FAVOR PLAY "ANYWHERE ELSE!!!!!!!
It's OK. Really.
Normally do not take the time to write these - felt I had to.
Booked this without reading the stacks of terrible reviews, but browsed through them the morning before we played. Needless to say, we expected the worst.
We were pleasantly surprised - this course is not bad at all. No, not top tier resort quality, but compared with others in the region at a similar price point - really pretty good.
Interesting layout, conditioning kind of meh, but very playable, greens need some attention, but not all that different than we have been playing in the Daytona Beach area.
Caveat - we are only here for the winter season, and have not played a lot of places yet - but this is in better condition than Halifax Plantation, better then Riviera, better than Victoria Hills by a little.
We don't understand the hate. Is it the high expectations of an Arnold Palmer course? That's fair, but for under $50, this is never gonna be Bay Hill, or even the Classic Club.. Staff was friendly, hardly any people on the course - played in 3 hours.
I
I am dome with this course. the condition is horrid> It is not a good experience. So sad such a great layout....it would be good for the game of golf if this place either closed or sold to someone who loves the game,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Fungus
nice layout greens are not in good shape i was told they have a fungus on the greens so its only going to get worse
Ok course for the money.
Nice layout. Greens weren’t in very good shape. Staff was rude when we returned the cart.
Getting behind on course improvements!
The layout of this course is one of the top five best layouts I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing and the maintenance team had become a regular sight on the course, which is great since the course is in bad shape but I haven’t seen them out in a couple of weeks! The bunkers can not be called sand traps because they lack one important ingredient…The SAND!!! Also, GN has gone absolutely mad, calling $50 a “Hot Deal”, for Pine Lakes is like charging for parking at the Flagler Pier and expecting people to be happy about it! Don’t pay $50 dollars for this course or you will be very upset, the course charges $37 after 1100 and it really isn’t worth that much! The owners are horrible people for continuing to charge full price for this course with the condition it is in! I would love to have a membership at Pine Lakes when they get it back in the proper condition but I can’t trust that they care about their patrons enough to invest that much money when they charge full price for a course that isn’t properly maintained and carts that slow down to half speed and even stop working altogether after 11 or 12 holes!
Are
Are you kidding, $50.00 Hot Deal....These owners have got to be kidding...They should pay golfers to play this Dump....As I have said before I live on the course....and have decided to sell my home after 14 years....DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY...GOLF NOW SHOULD DUMP THIS PLACE........SO SAD AFTER 14 YEARS...i'M MOVING TO cYPRESS KNOLL....A WELL MAINTAINED COURSE...
Soggy fairways
Played here 2 weeks ago and the course was cart path only, thought by waiting this long to play again it would have dried out more. It was 90 degrees, but really should have been cart path only. They have really done a lot to improve the course hate to see it torn up by letting people out when it is still somwet.
The prior
The prior review is dead wrong and a lie...This course is disgusting....Palm Coast golfers pray the course is Sold to people who know how to maintain a golf course...the now owners do not have a clue how to maintain Florida golf courses....Everthing about this place is the WORST in Flagler County...I hope the owners go back to Vermont with thier buddy Bernnie
Much Improved!
Other than cart path only (understandable due to recent downpours) it was an excellent round of golf. The playing conditions are miles ahead of where they were last November. Greens are in far better condition than when I last played here. Great value with Tee Off.
Keep up the good work Pine Lakes staff!!
I
I just read the below review it had to be written by the owner...no one in their right mind would give this dump a 5 star rating....I live on the course and it is HORRIBLE ..the worst conditioned course in Plam Coast......all that this place is missing is a headstone cause the owners have killed it.......
