Kingwood Golf Club & Resort
About
Kingwood Golf Club in Clayton is nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, surrounded by nearly 150,000 acres of protected national forest. While playing the course, it's likely you'll hear the roar of the nearby Chattooga River. The course is considered one of Georgia's best, thanks in large part to the stunning location, which lends mature hardwoods, rippling brooks, and lush green hills. The visually stunning golf course can seem intimidating, but four sets of tees guarantee that players of all skill levels can enjoy playing it. The par-71 layout measures just over 6,000 yards, a demanding length given the small greens and tight landing areas. A variety of elevation changes and strategically placed bunkers will test your accuracy at Kingwood G.C. Tee shot placement will also be an important factor in your score.

Nice Mountain Course
Relative short course in great condition. They had 4 inches of rain over a three day period and course drained well. Even though it was cart path only the fairways were not soaked. Greens in great condition. In order to score well you must keep ball in fairway. The rough will punish your score.
Kingwood Golf Club & Resort is GREAT!
What a wonderful course with a helpful and friendly staff. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the Kingwood golf course! The fairways were lush and green (and you better stay in them), the first cut was punishingly thick. You could get it out of the first cut but it was a lot like a penalty for me because I could not get much distance out of the thick grass. The greens were magnificent though not very fast. I kept putting as though they were fast and left some putts short but I did love the greens. I will definitely be back for more AND will recommend this course to others!!
vacation in the mtns of north geogia
my room was walking distance to first tee and the pro Louis was very nice and also the golf staff and the course was in excellent shape
Nice course
This course is very nice! The only problem I have with the course concerns the length of 3 or 4 holes. This course is only 6100 yards so some of the holes are awful short for anyone that has better than average length. This will not stop me from playing the course again though.
low pressure golf
Great mountain course. My wife and I played two days in a row. Several holes have great Vista's with creeks bordering many holes. The greens were like glass. I really enjoyed how far the ball traveled.
Great Facility
Nice club with pool, spa, restaurant, motel, etc. Course is in good shape. Weather was warm and muggy... course sits down in low area.
Kingwood
Beautiful course, you have to keep it in the fairway, the rough is very high. Make sure you bring extra balls
amazing mountain course
This place is killer! Well manicured and upkeep is perfect. Greens rolled great fairways were great only downside was the sand, from all the recent rain it was tough to get out of there but it was do able. Even bad shots have a chance with the funnel of hills and slope your always in play!! We played 3 days in a row and never got tired of the course. The views are AMAZING!!
A Great Day
The course was in good shape, The staff was very professional and welcoming. This is a course you need to play a few times to learn the holes. It would of been helpful if they offered a tip sheet for playing certain holes.
Will play again when we are in the area.
Play Here
You will love this course, my son, who is a high school golfer, played this course on a Saturday and just loved it. The staff is excellent and the course is the most beautiful course we have played. we have played all over the south and this by far is on top of our list.
Kingwood Mountain course
Love the layout of this course with doglegs, elevation changes and fastest running streams I've every seen on a golf course. Staff is repairing the fairways that are recovering from a harsh winter. Greens are in great shape and show no signs of the bad winter, but I could not adjust to their slow speed. This is a course that I always look forward to playing and have never been disappointed and it seems more golfers have learned of this gem; several out state tags in the parking lot.
Love this course but
I love playing this course, and the entire staff is very friendly and helpful. The only problem was that there was no indication on golf now that one nine was closed, or that the greens were aerified, and not sanded. If I had known this up front, we would have chosen to meet at another course. Extremely disappointed that we did not know this until after a significant drive by both, to meet at this course.
Great setting with beautiful views
Enjoyed the round, had to play the back twice due to punching holes on front. Course has some winter kill like all the other courses I have played this year, but still enjoyable. Their greens are very nice and very similar to my home course. I will play it again soon, I hope.
This course has great views
Being in the north Georgia mountains, this course has some great views. The course is in great condition and the staff are very helpful and courteous. This has become one of my favorite courses to play. I have introduced several of my friends to this course and they all want to come back and play again. They offer a great stay and play package.
Fabulous
I played three days in a row, the course is in great conditions, and challenging. NICE!!!
The only complain that if have are the workers (mowers) they are so irritating and keeps following you and do not stop when I try to hit or putt the ball.
I will be back...
Typical Mountain Resort Course
Overall the course is okay. Pretty short! Elevation changes! Carries over water often! Gimmicky holes! Undulated greens that really don't hold very well! A little pricey for what the course is! Some blind shots and shots with hidden trouble if you have never played there! Enjoyed the round with friends! Probably would play again if I found it on GN HD for $20! Go see for yourself!
Typical mountain course
One month later and the experience would have been much better
Still dormant fairways and greens aerated
Some hidden shots
Overall pleased with day on the course
DIRT 10 AND MANLEY
THE COURSE WAS REALLY NICE BUT THEY HAD JUST PUNCHED THE GREENS AND THEY WERE SUPER SLOW IM SURE THEY ARE GREAT WHEN THEY ARE NOT PUNCHED WE HAD A GREAT TIME BUT WE PAID TO PLAY 18 MORE HOLES AND WE NEEDED A NEW CART BECAUSE THEY ARE ELECTRIC AND THE GUY GOT UPSET BECAUSE HE WAS GOING TO HAVE TO CLEAN ANOTHER CART I THOUGH THAT WAS CRAZY SEEING HOW WE HAD JUST PAID 56 DOLLARS FOR A REPLAY BUT OVERALL WE HAD FUN AND I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK WHEN THE GREENS ARE ROLLING GOOD
Course still in winter mode
The greens had just been aerated and were very rough and hard to putt on. Fairways still brown. Several sand traps lacking deep sand. Course has a ways to go before it is in good condition. Been a hard winter on everything.
Great Course
This is a fun course with a couple of goofy holes on it but find a deal on here and you will enjoy!
