Red Bridge Golf & Country Club in Locust is routed through stands of mature trees that give the course a peacefully secluded feel. The layout wanders across gently rolling hills, providing a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There is a stream that runs throughout the golf course, coming into play on a few holes. The course is seemingly long at 7,100 yards from the back tees but it's more forgiving than it appears, which means players of all skill levels can enjoy the golf course. The design relied heavily on the natural features of the landscape, allowing the course to blend seamlessly into the natural surroundings while also shaping natural hazards. There are also strategically placed bunkers throughout Red Bridge that complement rather than overtake the natural challenges.

Gotta hit it straight and fairly long from white

Lots of opportunity to get into trouble if you can't hit 200 and straight from the tee. Better to follow the guidelines and move to Gold tees if higher handicap. Lots of hidden surprises that don't have warnings (hidden greens, ravines, etc.) -- first timers beware!

First Time Playing

First time to play RB.

It was 92 degrees today with virtually no breeze. HOT!!! Course had cold drinking water in many locations. Thumbs up. Large undulating greens were receptive and quite fast. Stay in the fairway or you could lose your ball in the short rough. That happened several times. Frustrating. Layout was challenging but fun. I’ll be back for sure.

Always In Great Shape

Red Bridge has always been in good shape whenever I have played there. Pace of play was a little slow but it was to be expected on a weekend with two in our group that had not been out in a while. Greens rolled true, fairways were hard but very few bare spots.

Red Bridge Challenge

I play 1-2 per week in the Charlotte Metro area. From Tee to Green this course is one of the best public golf courses in the area. It will challenge your entire game and you can use every club in your bag. The greens, bunkers, short grass, fairways are all in great shape. Hole #10 is their famed hole and #18 should be a par 6!

Good luck and have a great round.

Nice course

I like this course. Always in pretty good shape and green fees are reasonable. Pace was a little slow but over all a good experience.

One of the best courses in Charlotte

Not a beginners course for sure, I’m a 12 handicap and can easily shoot a 95 if I’m not careful. Course is always in great condition, good mix of challenging holes and less challenging holes. Would recommend to any golfer who is not beginner level of play.

Interesting Layout

Overall this is a course I enjoy playing. At first I did not like it but I kept going back and it grew on me.The front nine has 3 par 3's, 3 par 5's and 3 par 4's. All the holes are challenging but the penalty for some slightly missed shots on some are too severe. The back nine is more traditional and fun. The pace of play was slow this time because it was Friday after July 4th and the course was packed. Normally the pace of play is very good.

Great Course

First of all, it’s peaceful. It’s also beautiful. Very few homes along the fairways and even the ones that were there did not detract from the experience. Several really challenging holes. The course is well maintained and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only ding is that there really is not clubhouse to relax in with a beer and some food after playing. I assume that will come when more homes are built. Play it at least once. You’ll love it.

Red Bridge

The course has interesting layout. Lots of undulating fairways. Greens in good shape. Some rough spots in fairways. With a little bit of TLC this could be very good course. Also if your not familiar with course the dog legs Distance control is important. A course layout of some kind would help .

I'll be back

I haven't played this course in 5 years, but it still was in really good shape. The greens were slow because I was told they punched them about 3 weeks ago. Love the layout and 18 is still my favorite hole(609 yds. white tees).

Great course for the money

I love this course. No houses, just trees line the fairways, and late in the afternoon, you’ll often see more deer, rabbits and squirrels than people. Course is in good shape and depending upon the tees you choose to play, it’s as challenging as you want it to be.
