Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Oak Forest Course
About
Situated in the heart of Lowcountry, the Golf Club at Wescott Plantation is part of one of the area's oldest plantations. There are 27 holes of golf available at the club, which are divided into three nine-hole courses: Oak Forest, Burn Kill, and Black Robin. Although each golf course has a different character and scenery, they are all dappled with centuries-old live oaks and wetlands. The Oak Forest Course takes its name from the original plantation and has wider fairways than the other two courses. Lush vegetation frames each hole and the classic bunkering embodies the traditional feel of the course. The eighth hole is the signature hole of the entire golf course, distinct for both its scenery and difficulty. Par will be tough on this par 3 with a lake bordering the entire left side.

Coming back
Enjoyed the whole day, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly, I can’t say enough good things about them! The course is in great condition and the pace of play that day was excellent!
I will definitely play there again.
Coming back!
Staff friendliness is outstanding! The course was in excellent condition and the price was reasonable. My only complaint was the pace of play; I am not used to a 5 1/2 hour round mid week.
One of our favorites
All staff are professional and extremely friendly. The course is always well kept and the pace of play is good.
Wescott
I am a member this was my wifes round. Weather was great. Course was in great shape. Need to fix the putting green no holes cut, putting sticks dont work for putting practice.
Worth the drive
We drive at least 40 minutes to this course and it’s worth it. The Golf Now Hot Deal rates are great, the staff is always friendly and helpful, the course is in great shape and the clubhouse is very nice.
Good Conditions
I'm a frequent player and play this course once a month or so. Course was overall in very good condition. The green-side bunkers needed a lot of work though. Had to take a drop in the green-side traps a.couple of times due to unplayable lies (wet, soggy and un-manicured). Fairways, greens and tee boxes were all in great shape, although greens we're running slow (8'ish on the stimp).
The course could stand to come down a bit on their rates for locals. After all, this is a muni.
The teeing area at the range was moved up to an area that was very sloppy wet. Looked like they were blocking off the regular teeing area to get ready for the tournament later this month.
No beverage cart girl since she was on the outdoor grill at the turn. Good set-up for a food break at the turn.
Nice restaurant/bar area. Pro shop was adequate. Staff very friendly all the way around from pro shop to starter to cart attendants. Didn't see a ranger on the course during the entire round. Players were policing themselves well. Round took 4-1/2 hours...good pace for a Sunday in October.
The course aesthetics doesn't beg me to come back, though I'm sure I will. Nothing dramatic about the layout or visuals. Adding some colored foliage would make the course more memorable. Throw in some Azaleas, crepes, pampas grass seasonal plants to make up for the average layout.
Great Golf Course
It was quite challenging and enjoyable. I would encourage anyone to go and play this course. I am from California and we have quite challenging courses, but this course has very narrow fairways and the greens are small.
Great day
Course was in great shape especially the greens. Staff was very accommodating, friendly and professional.
Great vslue
Course stood up will to all the rain
generous landing areas on most how but off-the-fairway is pretty nasty. Pace was slow but labor day weekend...
Good course
Good course and worth the fees. Even after a bit of rain, it was still in great condition. Greens and tee boxes were in great shape. Challenging from all tees. Starter was very friendly and allowed golfers to enjoy their round by explaining each of the courses and allowing them to choose their course combo.
The old man in the pro shop made me stand and wait for 5 minutes while he did some data entry in his computer. Very rude. Instantly soured me on this place. He must be incompetent with a computer, if he can't minimize one program and open another. Or else he just didn't care that he was making me wait because some other project was more important than printing a receipt for me, so I could go play.
The course was under water. The greens are slow, shaggy common bermuda. Difficult to make anything on greens this grainy and bumpy. There were a few interesting holes, but also numerous basic, boring holes. The foursome of oldsters in front of me had no interest in letting me play through, which ruined things even more. It was a weekday afternoon, and there was no one in front of them. The $5 burger in the bar was probably the best thing this place has going for itself.
This course has a great layout
Rain rain go away course is very wet and the sand all full of water, I can't wait to play this course when it's dry!!
Great course
Great lay out with challenging holes....most fairways are wide enough yet still have enough hazards to keep you on your toes, fairly large fast greens great day overall
Excellent course and the best staff ever. Will definitely come back
Hidden gem
First of all, this course was designed by the guy who designed Erin Hill's this year's U.S. Open. I was in town for a conference and was able to play this course two days in a row. I played all three nines. The visual lines on the course were excellent and I thought that it was fair if you hit good shots. Course was in excellent shape. Greens are all true, fairways were cut and lush. The staff was overly friendly and were able to accommodate me as a single. There was no beverage person on the course, but outside of the clubhouse, they had a drive-through outdoor tent which was feasible. My only knock on the course was the water coolers were not always full and it was a hot day. I would definitely play this course again. This is a must play if you are traveling in the Charleston area.
