Golf Club At Wescott Plantation - Black Robin Course
About
The Golf Club at Westcott Plantation may be owned by the city of North Charleston but it is far from being your typical municipal course. The 27-hole layout is divided into three nines: Black Robin, Burn Kills, and Oak Forest. They each take their name from the plantation's long history, it's one of the oldest in the area. Care was taken to preserve the centuries-old live oaks and pristine wetlands that are scattered throughout the entire course. Black Robin is the tightest of the three nines with small greens that make it the most challenging as well. Every hole is framed by lush vegetation and various streams, ponds, and wetlands come into play throughout the course. The golf course ends with a welcome chance for a birdie in case you didn't fare too well on the tougher preceding holes.

Great course!
For the money you can’t beat this course. Great layout, many tee options, firm greens and great grass coverage.
Fun round of golf
The course was in great shape the greens rolled true and as always the views were great(two fawns greeted us on the 11th tee) . I would recommend this course to anyone who enjoys a great round of golf .
Need a ranger bad!
Love the course have played many times I have never understood why it is so expensive for a municipality, but is in good shape .That being said they need a Ranger bad we had a couples foursome in front of us that had the course backed up all day long With at least one hole open ahead of them
We were a twosome and was stuck behind a foursome who continuously were lo ok ing f or lost balls. After 4 holes of pasin we just had to drive past them. NO starter driving around to keep pace of play going.
This course is a good challenge.
The Black Robin and Oak Forest courses were well maintained and the greens were consistent. The staff was friendly and very accomodating.
"Home course" for a reason
I frequently tell people from out of town that as avid "weekend" golfer I don't become a member anywhere because this area has so much good golf to offer. I find myself back at Wescott again and again. Best value around, and with 3x 9 holes, it breaks up the motonany of playing the same place over and over. This has become the place I play most often, and I work hard for my money and like to think I spend it wisely.
Slow Play
I did not really enjoy the round because all of the slow play. When we made the turn we had 8 carts in front of us to play Oak and that should not happen.
Great Variety and Wide fairways
This course has a great layout with a variety of hole types. The fairways are wide enough that the amateur golfer will not lose too many golf balls in the woods.
Greens are in fantastic conditions, and the fairways are nice as well.
Gem!
This was our penultimate round on our Charleston/Hilton Head golf trip. Had we played here first we would have likely found time for another round or two. The clubhouse is an extremely cool plantation style building. The fairways were on par with the best we saw on the trip and the greens were fantastic! There were some definite risk reward holes and plenty of water to keep you off balance. Everyone was very helpful and they went out of their way to put our foursome together (we had to book two separate twosomes). This was a fantastic find and we will definitely be back in the future!!!
Rained out
Was not able to play due to rain. Booked hot deal through Golfnow. They will not give rain check. Need policy change. Course gets paid whether I play or not. The least Golfnow and the course could do, would be to credit the hot deal cost towards a regular price green free at a later date. Not looking for something for nothing, just looking for what's fair. Why should a frequent Golfnow customer be punished for bad weather. Makes me want to no longer use Golfnow. BE FAIR with your customer!!!!!!
Greens need more water. Wedge shots are not holding on green. Very fast greens. Tees need much work.
great time
The course is challenging has 3 nine's and the folks working there were very kind and nice. Still early but starting to green up nice.
Great Value, layout and conditions
The staff were very hospitable from pro shop to starter. The course was in good shape, doglegs, layups and water made it challenging, but fun. Pretty course.
Played Round Robin on the back. - same conditions and fun to play.
