About
The Highlands golf course is one of three courses owned and operated by Meadows Country Club. In addition to the Highlands and Meadows Courses, there is also the Arthur Hills-designed Groves Course, an 18-hole executive course. The Highlands Course has an "old Florida" layout equipped with plenty of trees and water that tumble across gentle hills. You'll be playing through majestic oaks and towering pines as you take on this challenging-but-fair test. Narrow, tree-lined fairways and small greens demand accuracy but generously the reward well placed shot. The golf course finishes with a tricky par 4. Your tee shot will to be straight and accurate to avoid the fairway bunkers on the left and right, positioning you for a mid iron back into a green that sloped front-to-back and guarded by bunkers on both sides. There is also a lake to the front left.

Beautiful pro shop and all staff(inside and out) was very congenial and helpful. Course is recovering from damage but was playable..
Highlands Golf
Staff was excellent! Pace of play was excellent! Would definitely recommend and play course again!
Conditions
Great layout tee boxes good fairways good greens not so good on 5 or 6 of the greens over all I'd play it again
Pace Was Slow
The Highlands is a challenging layout with plenty of trouble for wayward tee shots. The greens are average size. The course was very busy and the pace of play was average to slow for my personal preferred pace. The pace of play was not being marshalled. The tees were in average to poor shape. The fairways were also average. The pace of the greens was relatively quick and they rolled well if your ball could manage to avoid the dozens of unrepaired ball marks on the greens. Our foursome had a 2:05 tee time and the group finished at dusk in the near darkness (6:30 pm.). I found course conditions to be average overall..

Recent reviews indicated it was much improved.
I’d leave out the much.
Greens were spotty. Dirt patches on quite a few. Fairways are so-so. Good gps on the golf carts.
Good practice area, which is a plus.
Cold Day
I played the course at42 fahrenheit. but I
had fun and there were not many people on the course. 2.20 hours - Greens damaged from samd cranes . has to be repaired.
Decent course, slow pace of play
The staff was friendly, the course is decent, but when we got to the back nine the pace of play got super slow. We were frustrated enough that after hole10 we left. We played this course a little over a week ago and it was fine. But this time was a bummer.

Nice layout to bad it doesn't get the care it deserves
Have played the Highlands many times, unfortunately the price keeps going up and the condition of the course going down.
Now you have to check in at the private clubhouse, It appears they are investing money in at least one building on the public side, to bad they don't do the same for the course.
So-so
The women in the clubhouse and my golf partners were really nice. Greens were in rough shape along with with cart paths. Just a so -so day of golf.
