The Highlands golf course is one of three courses owned and operated by Meadows Country Club. In addition to the Highlands and Meadows Courses, there is also the Arthur Hills-designed Groves Course, an 18-hole executive course. The Highlands Course has an "old Florida" layout equipped with plenty of trees and water that tumble across gentle hills. You'll be playing through majestic oaks and towering pines as you take on this challenging-but-fair test. Narrow, tree-lined fairways and small greens demand accuracy but generously the reward well placed shot. The golf course finishes with a tricky par 4. Your tee shot will to be straight and accurate to avoid the fairway bunkers on the left and right, positioning you for a mid iron back into a green that sloped front-to-back and guarded by bunkers on both sides. There is also a lake to the front left.

Not worth it
Not worth the money, seen better deals, course was in bad shape on highlands
Rough around the edges but fun.
The course layout was very nice and pretty difficult for shorter course. The greens were in exceptional shape while the tee boxes and fairways we’re not so much. I’d still recommend it just because of the fun course layout..

Enjoyable and good value.
Played this course for the first time while here on vacation. The front nine condition was adequate but a little rougher than the back nine, where the greens were really beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Front 9 Needs a lot of Work
Back 9 is in great shape. Front 9, not so much. Lots of patches on tees, fairways and greens.
A Tale of 2 Nines
The condition of the front nine was pretty poor. Greens were sparse and had large patches of diseased/damaged/non-existent grass.
The back 9 was in better condition.
Overall -- not worth the $$ or the driving time to get there.

This is a hidden gem of a course. Great lay out. Friendly staff. Beautiful course hidden in the heart of Sarasota.
Conditions of the course, especially the greens do not justify the price. Back 9 better than front 9. Staff was great
