The Groves Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: The course is temporarily closed.
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Pretty challenging short course
Although this is a short par 65 course it will give any golfer quite the challenge. The fairways are pretty narrow and often have hidden hazards. Most of the greens are raised with tricky pin positions: If you aren't lucky enough to one-putt, your ball could easily end up 10-15 feet from the hole. Conditions were decent and actually in much better shape than the Highlands course.
Fun course
Very dry but playable fairway’s and greens fast and roll true. Very hard surface.. better to chip on than try to drop a soft pitch.
Small short and tight
Course is harder than it seems with very small and sloped greens. Staff nice. Course conditions slightly rough, fairways and rough just ok. Green’s decent. Bunkers wet kinda hard pan. Bit pricey for a par 3 course. But fun lay out challenging for what it is. Overall recommend.
Reasonably price for a decent price and course was in nice condition
Poor Quality Facility
Restrooms poor, staff friendly/helpful poor, no practice facilities, practice green at Groves can actually feel a vibration in putter when putter grounded from overhead electric wires. Groves course not advertised as such but is really an executive course-4,500 yds from the tips. Members only practice areas looked nice but not available to public. DO NOT SIGN UP FOR GROVES UNLESS COMPLIMENTARY PRACTICE ROUND IS OFFERED. NOT GOOD.
Pleasant surprise
Groves course nice shorter challenge. Some tightness , water hazards , and smooth fast greens.
Executive course
It was an ok course for my sons first time out this year with the executive course length and the condition of the course. A day with family on the course is always a great thing.
Cancelling
The pro shop had no record on res # 372369190,which was paid on line.At the same time as our tee time a severe weather alert was issued having all carts to return to the pro shop.We left the course and cannot get hold of Golf now for a reschedule
Crazy greens on short track
Pretty slow pace, largely due to novice players, still finished this short course well under 4 hours. Unless you’re used to putting on a hockey rink, plan on 3 or 4-putting almost every hole. What could have been a fun challenge if they were toned down to maybe 12 on a stimp meter, instead putting was an ordeal. Good for practicing iron play and pitch shots from different angles and distances, which was what I needed anyway.
Surprised
This is a challenging short course, don’t think you’re going to roll right over it!
Weird starting times while still dark for multiple groups
Course needs to have start times align with the sunrise, not 20 minutes before
