The Groves Golf Course
About
Editor's Note: The course is temporarily closed.
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

Always a pleasure
This is one of my favorite courses. Hilly, challenging greens, some narrow fairways. It is par 65 but plays like par 70. The course conditions are a little down but I attribute that to the heat.
You can't go wrong giving this course a try
Interesting
Hello, My friends and I , eight of us, from my good experiences played the meadows courses quite often (During the shut down). It was good for us and helped a local course make (Money.) I also played the highlands twice in the previous week. We arrived today with very aggressive starters who seemed very intent on letting us know the rules of the course. They were so intent that they didn't ask us what course we were playing and held us up in the heat for over 30 minutes for no reason. With no players on schedule to play in front of us. I took a new player today to show him the course. I dont usually write reviews, but was so disappointed that I felt compelled.
Not you normal executive course
The Groves is every bit as challenging as many par 72 courses. With water and sand coming into play on nearly every hole, even a low handicapped player will appreciate the accuracy required to score well at The Groves. It’s great for being able to fine tune your short game with a few holes thrown in that you can hit your driver. If you’ve never played The Groves don’t discount it because it’s under 4000 yds. Bring your “A” game!
Good value
I took a chance on the Groves from all the other reviews on here. The course was a short, neat little track. The man who checked me in was very nice and the starter was super friendly! No real place to practice, although the adjoining Meadows CC has a very nice practice facility that taunts you. Haha.
The course was in much better condition compared to the surrounding courses. The greens are tiny, but that helps hone in your irons. Due to the heat, the greens were a little hard to hold some shots. I found the back 9 greens were a little slower than the front 9.
Fairways were good. Some small crabgrass patches here and there. The tee boxes were alright, some had a little longer cut than others.
Pace was amazing. Played 18 in 1 hour and 50 minutes. I’d recommend this course, just know it is a shorter, but fun course.
Excellent Course. Great layout
I had so much fun playing the Groves. The course layout is excellent and fairly challenging for an executive course. The course has rolling fairways and greens and plenty of water hazards.
Very fun course. Can’t wait to play the highlands tomorrow.
Hidden Gem
My first time on this course and I will definitely be back. With the extremely hilly fairways and undulating greens, this course is the toughest executive course I have played and plays like a lot more than par 65. Lots of mature woods and several extremely beautiful and picturesque holes. The fairways could use a bit of TLC but the greens were all recently rebuilt and were flawless.
Try this course....you will be glad you did
Fun round
Fun layout
Undulating fairways and awesome condition of greens
Great value for what we got on GolfNow.con
Amazing new greens
A fun executive course. It even has a par 5. Fun layout. New greens are perfect.
This course has enough water to make it a tough, fun little course. The new greens make it a joy to play now. Good job maintenance!
