The Groves Golf Course

About
Designed by Arthur Hills, the Groves Golf Course may be a "short" course but it's still a challenge. It's one of three courses operated by Meadows Country Club. With a layout that sprawls across more than 50 acres, the par-63 layout feels more like a championship par-72 course. The layout is comprised of nine par 4s, eight par 3s, and one par 5. The course rewards accuracy and good shot placement, meaning it's not strength that matters but being able to strategize. The seventh hole is a memorable par 3 that appears simple enough thanks to a massive and seemingly inviting green, but the problem isn't hitting the green but getting your shot on the same level as the pin. There is a 5-foot slope that runs through the green, the severity of which is matched only by some of the greens at Augusta National.

An Executive Challenge
Course is well maintained and in very good shape this summer. Turf on the greens was a little longer than usual so putts were slower than usual but acceptable. Pace as a single was very good (2 1/4 h) for 18 which is a necessity when the heat index reaches 108F as it did during my round. 😊. The Groves requires accurate ball striking and distance control otherwise par becomes a challenge since the greens are highly sloped and multi-tiiered. Always a fun challenge.

Nice track
The course is in good shape. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are in good shape.
Easy course to walk.and work.on your iron play.
Quick Round in Summer's Heat
The Groves is a nice way to get 18 holes in during the summer heat. As a single I was able to play at a nice pace (2 hours) for 18 on this challenging executive course. The fairways are in good shape and the tees were good as well. The greens were still recovering from aeration and were a bit shaggy. The layout of this course doesn't require a driver except for one Par 5 but regardless their is water on every hole so solid tee shots are a must for scoring. The Groves is challenging,, fast, and fun to play.
Love this Course
The Groves is looking good considering our major drought. The fairways and greens are in good shape. We enjoying playing this course and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Can't wait to play there again.
Good iron/wedge practice, but that’s all
Enjoyed the iron practice but the course layout is super confusing. 5 minute golf cart ride to the first tee across the road. Directions are super unclear on where the next hole is for a decent amount of holes. $40 isn’t bad for a decent golf course but here you could hit it dead straight and end up in a pile of dirt. Greens were nice. Worth it for the practice, not worth it for the actual golf.
Groves
Friendly staff. Course needs work. Recently aerated greens made putting difficult. Some fairways very good some not so much. Price was decent but not great for conditions.
If you want cheai
Looking for a cheap executive course.
This is a good choice. You get what you pay for.
