Nestled in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, Sequoyah National Golf Club is surrounded by mature oak and fir trees. Owned by the Eastern Band of Cherokee, the course is routed through flowered valleys that provide a colorful complement to the surrounding mountain views. It feels peacefully secluded but it is conveniently located less than an hour from Asheville. Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the layout. The rolling terrain guarantees a range of different elevation changes but there are also some flat holes. The golf course is a tough test, offering several forced carries over water and severe dogleg fairways. The sloped greens are no easy feat either. Proper club selection and accurate approach shots will be generously rewarded. Sequoyah National also offers an expansive practice area with a driving range and putting and chipping greens.

Lots of elevation changes and amazing views! Course layout was very fun. Would come back just for the views. Practice facilities weren't great (driving range was small and closed, a couple of small putting greens and a rundown chipping garea). Starter (Hank) was great. Still winter conditions, with recently aerated greens, but I'd imagine it's absolutely amazing in season when everything is greened up (or fall with the leaves changing). Got a HotDeal, so for less than $50 it was worth the drive and would recommend it if you're in the area.

Great course.

Beautiful championship style course in the mountains. Only negatives were that all bathrooms were out of order and the greens had just been aerated.

I hope Heaven has a golf course like this

If you are looking for a course to take your breath away, look no further, this place is it. If you are looking for a course to challenge you like you have never been challenged before, this place is it. If you are looking for a staff that is proud of what they have and will do whatever they can to make you happy, this place is it.

This course is the best course I have ever played! I hope that when I die and go to heaven that they have a course as great as this one.

Upstate Foursome

There was not an aeration alert when I booked. Greens had just been aereated. Love the course and layout. Course conditions are always excellent and the staff is always courteous and friendly. Ratings are usually

5 stars for everything, but putting was a challenge during this round. We will definitely be back. Thanks

Sequoyah Nat

Had a good day despite the greens having been punched and sanded. The layout is awesome and the scenic shots are hard to beat. The pace was slow due to getting paired with a young couple who had no idea how to play golf, but we ditched them after 9 holes. Also we had to wait a few times on the grounds crew to drag the greens but that was understandable. I would definitely like to go back when the course conditions are prime. Our round was discounted so the price was excellent for what we got.0

Winter conditions are stellar

This course is a gem in the winter months. Irrigation is top of the line and greens roll true. If you can get on for under $75 a round, it’s a steal.

Difficult, fair, and beautiful

I live in East Tennessee and have played most courses in the east Tennessee and western North Carolina. This is easily my favorite course in the area. The greens are fast and true. There's an advantage to playing here more than once as there are certain spots on the fairway that you want to hit, and spots to avoid. Beautiful doesn't begin to describe the scenery. Majestic would be a better word. I will be back, often!

Could be much better

Pace of play extremely slow. They don't have enough carts. 30 min. delay on tee off time because of the shortage of carts. The carts need to be updated. GPS system works some of cart.

They should build a better club house with better pro-shop, dining area and restrooms with at least two shower room. Their parking lot is so small.
