Old Union Golf Course

I've played this course several times and I will play it again

It has been over a year since my last trip to Old Union. I love the layout of the course and truly enjoy knowing that I will play most of the clubs in my bag. The fairways are getting there, some spots still need some attention but not like before. I did not see the first ring spot in any fairway. The greens had NO weeds. There was a few spots on the greens but except for the 18th there were all pretty good. I will be back and so will my buddies.

It is obvious the staff at Old Union has been working really hard to improve the course. The greens are 100 times better than they were. There is no more crab grass, and the green surfaces are drastically improved. The course is absolutely beautiful and the layout is great. I really enjoy playing there. The staff members are awesome!

I really enjoy this course however the course conditions have deteriorated since I played here last in the spring. The fairways are being taken over by crabgrass and the greens have numerous dead spots which appear to be caused by some type of fungus. The fairways still give you a good lie but the greens are a different story. For the money ($35) it is worth playing if you are local (We drove 2 hours). The staff has always been extremely friendly and the players on the course have always been friendly. Hopefully the green issue will be remedied soon as this is a most enjoyable track.

Beautiful views all around! Quiet qnd peaceful setting. The course is lush and well manicured. Greens are in need of work but overall a great place to play.

Its a shame i have to write this review , last year I played this course twice and was one of my favorites.

Upon return for my 1st time this season was so disappointed there is literally no greens at all there

was no way to putt they were so bad . its really ashamed because the rest of the course is so beautiful , Ive played it my last time unless someone tells me they have fixed the greens .

First of all I would say that I would LOVE this course if the owners would put some money into it. The design is first class. It's not often you find a course that offers 7600yds, 7100yds, or a more manageable 6400. I was playing with 2 buddies who are high handicap players, so we took the blue tees at 6400 yds. Lots of risk /reward shots available! Very interesting course most holes give you something to think about.

Now the downside. Some fairways don't look like fairways. The greens LOOKED plain awful. But surprisingly, they didn't roll too badly. Slow and soft greens. Grass growing in some bunkers.

Unfortunately, I think this course has 2 futures. Make it great again and try to make it a destination, or it's gonna close. Play it while you can...

The course is in bad condition. The only thing good about the round was great weather.

Greens and fairways need work...too many weeds. Enjoyed the layout....

Somewhat challenging layout. Played the white tees which called for some interesting club choices. Take out a driver and attempt to carry trouble or lay up with an iron off the tee?

Course condition was average on the day played. Specially the greens had a number of bad spots but it was obvious they would not require much to be considered above average. All in all the course was very playable. I would return.

Golf course in good condition from tee to green. Fairways have improved alot from last year, probably 75 % Bermuda. Greens have goose grass in them again this year, great other then that. Played by myself, came upon a group on the 8. I stayed off of them until number 12, were I thought it would be a great hole for them to let me through, they didn't. Ended up being 4.5 he round, not bad for a foursome, very slow for a single though. I would love to see the golf course get the goose grass out of the greens. This is a great layout.

Course maintenance personnel do not stop mowing when players are playing. Cart path is far from greens and tees on many holes (20 to 30 yards). Fairways are full of weeds. Greens were not to bad. Club house small but adequate. Yardage not marked on all holes. They offer you a yardage book for $4.00 in the clubhouse.

Semi-Private with a driving range. Great greens, poor fairways. No marshals to regulate play.

Old Union is a very challenging course with a great layout. Unlike other courses in the area, it's not a "mountain" design which is a nice change of pace. The course used to be pristine - not anymore. Talking with personnel, the prior owner after 2008 let the course disintegrate into a "goat track". New ownership is working very hard to get it back in shape and it's not there yet. Staff is very friendly, carts are great, teeboxes look good and greens are in decent shape. I do believe they will get this course back into great shape and it's obvious they are trying. I'd advise to play it now when prices are low then come back in a year and see what improvements they've made. Hopefully will get it back to one of the premier tracks in the area.
