Keith Hills Golf Club - Black Course

Great course south of Raleigh. A bit of a hike but worth the travel time. Our golf cart's computer system crashed after a few holes. Not a big deal since I don't really rely on it but would have been nice to keep score with - no scorecards in cart or on course. I guess bring your own.

This is a great course, challenging and the staff was excellent as usual. The only issue I encountered with pace of play was a slow foursome who seemed like they didn't understand ready golf, or just didn't care about the 3 groups behind them they were holding up with slow play. They played from the tips, and shanked it in the woods most of the time. Then followed up by spending 5 mins looking for their ball in the woods, and additionally about 3-5 mins studying the putt before finally double bogeying or worse each hole. We did our best to ignore their slow play, I will call the clubhouse next time to see if they can assist. It was a packed weekend and understood it was going to be slow, but these were very inconsiderate, golfers. Not the norm for this course, and next time I'll do my part to call the clubhouse to assist.

Though we had a day and a half of rain previously the course was in very good shape. We did have to stay on the cart paths but overall the course drains well and there were just a few spots of overly wet areas. Played 18 in under 3 1/2 hours. You should enjoy the round at KH.

We really like this course. Conditions are great. Pace of play average, slower today than normal. Nice layout, playable for all levels of player.

Keith Hills offers 3 different 9 hole courses. Each has its own unique challenges and rewards. You will enjoy your outing. Staff had always been helpful and ready to assist you.

Course has a lot of interesting holes, not too much water.. A lot of areas looked like practice areas, for who???

I might as well of paid full price after tax and convenience fees. Then we are not allowed to use the range facilities without any notice and after showing up over an hour before my booked tee time 4 days in advance. Not only that, but on a 27 hole course we had to play the same 9 twice. Not happy with the money spent on this round at all.

Excellent course with many different ways to approach most holes. You don't have to be a long hitter for most holes, probably better not to use the Big Dog on each Tee Box. I like these courses because you can course manage through them and score decently. But if you fall for the Driver off each Tee, you better be accurate and know your distances. I like the amount of hazards and challenges. The Black course is not for beginners and the most challenging. Course was packed the day I went, but moved fairly quickly. When played on hot days, recommend bringing water as there's no where to get refreshments. The practice range was very nice to warm up prior to playing. Great course, great staff, and everyone I've met playing are very friendly and fun.

I play this course several times per year and it is in my regular rotation being only 30 minutes from my home. ( 3 separate 9 holes were you are assigned 2 based on traffic). It has always been a good course at a average value, but I hadn't played it in over 6-9 months. I started to see the course rated in several different mediums as a top 25 course in NC.( I thought they can't be speaking of the same course because it was no Mid Pines, Tobacco Road, Finley, Legacy, or Dormie ) . So, I played it again this summer for probably the 30th time and I was shocked at the conditions. The writers were correct. The course, cart paths, practice facility have all improved dramatically. Cambell University does not have the "golf" clout of NCSU, UNC, or Duke but they have certainly improved their average golf course(s) to a real contender. Nice Job, considering Keith Hill charges half the price of the other college courses I just mentioned.

Played orange/black course for the 3rd time. Everything about the course in general is super but it would be SUPER GREAT if we could alternate the course to play so we aren't playing the same one all the time. Just saying:}

This course is fantastic! Black course is definitely a little tight but orange opens up a fair bit so it’s good for your average golfer. Only complain would be the pace of play, 9 minutes between tee times would be fine if everyone didn’t take their time. Especially in the afternoon is when they get really backed up. I will go in the AM from now on, other than that it is a great course and you really can’t beat the value!
