The Chimneys Golf Course
About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

7th Tee Photo submitted by UGABrodel on 11/07/2016
Beautiful layout. Wonderful landscaping with large red rock formations around traps, tee boxes, and fairway bunkers. Tee boxes and fairways were in mint condition. Greens were in very good condition. Would rate them excellent except for overseeing/sanding. But as that must happen from time to time it is understandable. Staff was friendly and very competent. Overall an excellent round for the money. This was my first time at The Chimneys but won’t be my last.
Good challenge with a lot of forgiveness
Course was extremely well maintained, rivals that of a pro course. The course only really has 2-3 holes where forgiveness is very limited, otherwise, there is wide open space all around. The course is challenging for those trying to play their best game, and at 6800 yards at the tips, it’s pretty tough. Their holes have been swapped so hole 10 is hole 1 on the scores card. Took a minute to figure that out. The hills and overall course layout made this my favorite course of my trip. Highly recommend.
Must play
I’ve played at a lot of different courses and this is possibly the best one ever.
Course conditions
This is one of the best golf courses I’ve played at. The fairways are in great condition tee boxes are in great conditions greens are excellent.
Great Course
Excellent course with great fairways & greens.
Will play here again soon
Picturesque and forgiving
Played on a weekday morning and the course was in great shape. The greens are quite challenging and the fairways are forgiving., though if you hit out of bounds consider it gone since those areas are not managed.. First time playing here and would definitely comeback. Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. There was cart service the morning we played. The inly drawback was that the carts were not cleaned between rounds.
Great course
Fantastic course. Well kept, greens were solid. They were firm and the ball was traveling fast. But clean course, good shade with the heat. Pace of play was great for a 4th of July weekend.
This course has been on my list of courses to play for a bit now. Finally had a chance to play it and it was totally worth the drive. Course was in great condition from tees to greens. The layout was fun and provides a challenge that entices you towards your driver off the tees but often was happy with my choice to layup. The practice facility was above average. The clubhouse set up was straight forward with no frills. All said and done, this is a great course that will be put in my rotation.
Worth the drive
Very good track! Nice friendly staff. Enjoyed it overall. 1:50 front nine 2:25 back nine. Need some hots dogs for snacks. Bring water with you as not enough on course. I would give it 4.5 overall.
Fun course
Chimney's staff is very friendly. They have a starter on weekends but no marshalls to keep the pace moving. The club house has limited food (cold snacks only) and beverages are not always cold. Cooler is good, but perhaps need to ensure it is well stocked before sat morning so they beer./beverages are cold.
The fairways are in great shape and the bunkers have plenty of sand to make them very playable.
Only one chimney
Saw one chimney and one deer, course is scenic and varied on would recommend this course to anyone.
Love this Course
I used to play here when the course first opened. Then I relocated, and only recently returned. The improvements to the course are impressive. The staff are wonderful!
Everything here is 1st class for a municipal course, and it surpasses a lot of private clubs in the area.
We have been having a heat wave of late with little or no rain. However the course is in beautiful condition. When the folks designed this course a lot of thought went into sourcing a water supply that was sustainable. They really succeeded.
What a compliment! Thank you for playing with us!
