The Chimneys Golf Course
About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

7th Tee Photo submitted by UGABrodel on 11/07/2016
slow play
The last 3 times I have played was extremely slow. The last time I paid for 18 holes and quit after 12 due to the pace of play. The course needs a marshal to keep the pace appropriate. There were several times when an entire hole was open between groups and golfers not playing the right tees contributes to the problem. A nice course but for the money they charge the pace of play can be improved.
Chimneys 2.0 is a winner
This course has always been a favorite of mine. The new greens are fantastic. I will definitely be coming back here again and again this spring and summer.
10/10
Course is always in great shape. I can’t wait for summer and it to green up! It is going to look awesome.
The course was in great shape. I enjoy playing this course every time I come out here. The staff is friendly and the pace of play is generally good. I would recommend this course to anyone who hadn’t played it
The new greens are good
They put in new greens last year and they are holding up well.. pretty firm
I heard the super does not want to have divots filled because sometimes they are overfilled. Hurts the cutters but there is no grass cutting now and any excess sand will be gone with rain soon.
Fairways are pretty tight for lies but it is a course for people who are a bit wild. I almost got hit on 18 green from an approach to 13th which was 70 yards away
Thanks to the people who let us through and realized they were playing slow
Pretty good for Feb - only one compliant
Course was surprisingly damp to me
Greens were excellent and very quick
Amazing for early season
The course has many easy holes and about 6 quite hard holes.
I asked some greens staff why they had no dirt for the carts to fill divots
No explanation but with the course damp we digging up the course with little ability to repair the damage.. We want to take care of the course but really unacceptable to not have the carts fully prepared and have places to replenish around the course
Crystal lakes last week had excellent sand to replace divots. ... Thought it was just common sense
Dk choi
I love this golf course
Very good condition fairway and greens
I will recommend. My friend
Love this course.
Wish it was a bit closer, but worth the drive for me.
Difficult first time.
Was able to play as one of my Golf Now Free rounds. Can never beat free! Greens were excellent, would like to go back in the summer. Had a tough round as was stressed the whole time. Started with my GPS not working hence was difficult to find. Then having a 12pm tee time did not help. Hope to return in the summer as it was really wet and sloppy.
Slow Play
In all the rounds that I have played I have been very satisfied with the pace of play. Out of 45 rounds this year there has been about 6 times there was a very slow pace of play. There is a starting Marshall however there is not one cruising the course to keep the pace moving. That is the only complaint I have about this course. All and all it is worth my 45 min drive from Atlanta.
Great Course, but a Psycho Was Out Sunday Afternoon
As we were putting on the 4th green, some angry, crazy guy (ACG) and lady pull up to the tee box and proceed to scream that we were playing too slow and needed to let people play through. This isn’t even the group that’s been behind us, he’s just jumped ahead to be belligerent. We politely told him that we were keeping up with the group in front of us and that everyone is backed up.
Fast forward to the 15th hole. We just teed off and are driving to our balls when ACG reappears screaming his head off again. We aren’t sure what he’s saying, so we stop and turn around to look. Dude is already teeing up his ball and getting ready to hit when we are maybe 100 yards away. At no point did he ask to play through, just straight into his rage induced nonsense. Not wanting to further anger someone who likely has a barbed wire tattoo on his bicep and multiple alimony payments, we tell him to go ahead and play through.
Funny enough, he proceeds to hit his drive 200 yards left into the woods. He then re-tees and smashed another into the woods. Great job bud, you really showed us.
Think he knows that taking mulligans slows down pace of play?
Chimneys
Good course. Switched the nines since the last time I played. Very enjoyable
Good course
Fairway and greens cre in good condition.
Especially the fast greens are good!
Great course but horribly slow pace of place
We were one and a half hours in on the 4th hole and I called the pro shop for help because we had 3 groups on the 4th hole. No help came from the pro shop. Finally on the 15th hole I told the group ahead of us they could let us through. We were a twosome and they were a threesome. There were two holes open in front of them and they reluctantly agreed. For a Sunday afternoon there could be a Marshall to keep the pace of play moving.
