The Chimneys Golf Course
About
The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

Great course
This is a great risk reward co playgreat pace of play friendly staff will always come back.
Nice variety and fun to play
Not a difficult course.most holes have generous fairways . Front 9 plays longer than back. Nice variety of holes and elevation changes. Several driveable par 4's. Forced carries on some. Condition of turf was excellent for the time of year. Only negative was the greens. They were pretty shaggy although the grass itself was in good condition. Great value. Worth the drjve. Will definitely go back..
Fun Course
Front nine and back nine are completely different. Overall this is a fairly easy course, but still very enjoyable for more advanced golfers, with the back nine having three drivable par 4's. Greens are a little thick, but not in bad shape. I usually play this course for around $25 after class during the week which is a very reasonable price. A 10 handicap like myself can go out there and post a 78 with no problem.
Golf at Chimney's Golf Course
I have played at Chimney's for a few years now. This course is a gem nestled in the Winder, GA area by Ft. Yargo State Park. The course layout is short, a little over 6,000 yards from the blue tees, but will challenge even the most accomplished golfer with accurate tee shots and iron shots a must to score well. The greens fees are reasonable, and the grilled out back of the clubhouse sandwiches (Brats, Burgers, Dogs) are the best! The best stretch of the course for me is holes 15 through 18 where good drives and accurate irons into the green can cap off a great 18 hole experience. The course is well laid out and may of the holes are just eye appealing! Had a great time playing this past weekend!!!
Almost a five star!
Nice course but plays short so I played from the tips! Front nine was nice but the back nine really shines! I would have given it five stars but the greens were really shaggy and slow!
I'll go back
Nice course with good service by the staff. Paired up with a gentleman who shot a four over par game and I'm sure he won't team up with me again. Slowed him down considerably but certainly enjoyed watching him play. Hey, it was a day at golf, how bad can it be.
This course is one of my favorites
I got out to play yesterday afternoon, great day for golf, only saw like 3 groups all day, this course has got some easy holes and some very hard holes, 11 is a great risk reward hole, par is great score on 12, if you play it smart you can put up a good score,I had a chance to shoot an 81 with a par on the 9th(started on 10 ) ,but tried to hit driver over the junk and hit a tree(not smart),the course is a little soggy right now due to all the rain lately, but had an awesome time, go check it out if your in the area.
very nice course
My first time playing here, was impressed with everything but the greens, not very well kelped.
enjoyable round
The course was in decent shape, although the greens were a bit soft, slow and bumpy. Quite a few greens had bare spots and ball marks not repaired correctly but really didn't take away from the overall enjoyment of the round. It is a nice easy course to spend an afternoon on, I will play it again.
Love this course!
Beginner golfer here playing this course for the 2nd time.
Love this course! Great layout, easy to navigate, nice elevation changes and some holes that really require you to use your course management skills.
A great course to play anytime but even better with a great rate thru GolfNow.
Front Fun
The few front holes were more fun than the rest of the holes. They have built up tee boxes on top of stone walls. Hole one was the nicest.
Dam good
Best course i have seen in years. They use turf builder on there grass and wow every lie ypur ball is sitting right up to hit. Best fairways i have seen in atlanta. I mean that 2.
Very impressed
First time here, looks very "homey" at first glance. Very compact club house, Cart barn, parking lot and range, but the course is fabulous. Tee to green. If I lived closer I'd join this course.
the course could be great, but not keep up
i must return again, very nice course, the course staff was wonderful
Nice course
Nice course , pace of play was slow the guys in front of us would not let us thru
A Gem
Beautiful course..it is a ball strikers course but a great layout . Definitely worth playing anytime
Great Experience For The Price
The course is in great shape and the pace is excellent.
Always Great!
I play this course a lot and it never disappoints. I sometimes take it for granted because I live so close. Always in superb condition. I f you can hold your own on the front 9, the back 9 can really allow for good scoring. Recently acquired by the city of Winder and, if anything, it has just gotten better. Fairways, greens, teeboxes always excellent.
