First time review
I played the Mountains course. The overall course conditions were good, a few spots on the greens and tees were spotty but greens rolled well. The dart paths could really use some repairs or replacement.
Range was not in great shape and needs yardage markers updated and more regular club cleaning station care.
Clubhouse facilities were nice, staff was great and friendly, also pushing new memberships under new management. Apparel stock was nice assortment and good quality. Could offer better price breaks on clearance or old stock items to keep fresh.
Overall I will be back to play the Lakes course and interested in membership to take advantage of 54-hole layout along with Chapel Hills.
DO NOT WASTE MONEY
Have played both sides of this course. Mountain course was good.
Lake course … DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The greens are horrendous right now. You could put the pins in the fairway and have the same “greens” experience. It should be half off right now. Greens are covered in sand and putts jump around due to tall grass. Not enjoyable . Not to mention, the driving range is STILL not open to use.
Better than expected
The course was in decent shape. A handful of greens needed work due to patchiness.
The pro shop staff was friendly and accommodating. It was raising off and on, so they had flexibility to move tee times out due to passing rain.
They have a full restaurant and bar which positively adds to a social golf outing with friends.
A pleasure to play
Great course- played the Lake course. Challenge to say the least. Lots of water so aptly named. Some easy and difficult holes mixed nicely . Greens were sanded but still rolled pretty true. Fun to play would love to return and play the Forest course.
Fun course!
Great course and fun layout. The cart path needs some serious work. Major potholes/craters throughout the path. Surprised our cart didn’t get a flat. Tee boxes could’ve used a cut as well. Fairways, bunkers, and greens were stellar.
Do they own a lawnmower?
Greens were pristine, but I’m pretty sure that’s the only grass they cut. Tee boxes were like the rough
Mountain Course
I booked a Mirror Lake round as a single, but the starter suggested the other course because the tee sheet was wide open. It's not close to being a mountain, but it did have a few slopes, and it was very nice with no one in front or behind. I was then able to find most of my errant shots, as the woods encroach here and there. The layout was an enjoyable mix of easy and difficult holes and the conditions were as expected for a private club. (greens were rolling great but tee boxes were a bit choppy) I will certainly return to try the Lake course in the near future.
Mirror Lake (Lake Course)
I recently joined Clubcorp and my home courses are Mirror Lakes and Chapel Hills. This review is for the "Lake" course at Mirror Lakes. Mirror Lakes has two 18 hole courses, The Lake and The Mountain. These are private courses, so a membership is required to play, unless you go with another member to play as a guest.
First of all, the course is located in a nice residential area, and several holes are along Mirror lake. The tee boxes are in good shape, with 5 sets so great for any skill level. The fairways were cut properly, with very little dead/wet/damaged spots, which was nice. The bunkers were kept up well, and the sand fluffy and white. It had rained the day before, and there were no signs of poor drainage, pooling, etc., in the bunkers or the fairways. The greens were pretty much immaculate, with zero damage spots, and they rolled fast and true. Very impressed with this course's condition, and hats off to the grounds crew and management for keeping it in excellent shape. The clubhouse is also nice, stocked with items for sale and very friendly and helpful service. The only downside at this course is the cart path, and its because tree roots have cause raised bumps in the path. It was a minor inconvenience, as all thats needed is to drive a little slower so you dont start bouncing. The grill was nice, as well, quick and good quality. I would strongly recommend this course to anyone who has an opportunity to play it, or is considering membership.
Great Clubcorp Course!
The Lake Course at MIrror Lake is a great layout and fun and challenging track. It's a Clubcorp course and one of the best in the Atlanta area in my opinion. They just put in all new bunkers on the course and the greens are incredibly fast Bermuda (the Mountain course still has Bent Grass). The greens are some of the most challenging you'll play. I highly recommend both the Lake and Mountain course at Mirror Lake.
Good luck
Mirror lake is buetifully designed but is very tough and mentally challenging. I played here with a member who told me a few tricks. The clubhouse is a little small for a Clubcorp design but whatever. The driving range is nice and like how they have great chipping area up to 90 yards. The putting green is just like the course. When you head on the course you will notice they have got awards for environmental things like bridges and not polluting the course. The first hole is a short par 5 but 2 is another short par 4. There are not really hole lot of highlights until you get to 17 which is a par 5 with lots of water and there is 18 which the green is too firm. I liked the course.
