Nice Value
I'm newly arrived in Georgia and looking for high quality courses to play and this one certainly fit the bill. Three different nine hole layouts all challenging with some nice scenic holes. Course was in excellent shape from tee to green. Greens were smooth and fast, ideal. I'm a ten handicap and found the blue tees a really good challenge.
Aerated Greens
When I saw the deals on Golfnow, I thought it was a great deal. We got there and the greens were being aerated with no warning. It sucked because it was evening and didn't have time to go anywhere else. We talked to one of the managers and he shook his head and said, "yep". That was it. It was a hot day. The course had water holes with no water. When I got to the pro shop a Gatorade cost $3.17. That's ridiculous. Usually a great and challenging golf course. I understand that aeration is a necessity, just like to have warning. No water and extreme cost for drinks.
Greens are fast!
The white course was in great shape. Only complaint would be the tee boxes are pretty beat up. Hard to find a flat spot to hit from.
The blue course had just gone through punching and sanding of greens. This was not apparent through the golfnow reservation. There also wasn't any discount (the usual clue about course maintenance). This tainted an otherwise good round.
For this round, there was only one visit from the drink/snack cart. With the heat, they'd do better to make sure there was more coverage there.
Overall, I like the course. They keep it reasonably priced for the summer. The greens are some of the fastest public greens around. The fairways and greens were in great condition.
I'll play there again, but will definitely call ahead to find out the maintenance schedule.
The greens were perfect
Very playable course. Open fairways; guarded greens
Good course for the money
Overall a really good course. The Blue 9 greens were like putting on a beach. Lots of sand with very little grass. Our 2nd 9 on the Red course was perfect. Great pace of play. Definetly will be back to play again.
Bradshaw
Arrived at the course to Learn the greens were just punched, not exactly how you want to start, then learned they had a senior tourney going out as we did, they put us behind them. The person who checked me in was not honest about anything! It will be a long time before I go back
So Slow
The pace of play was awful. Took 5 1/2 hours to play 18. The course marshall was friendly, but ineffective.
Worth it for $40 or less
Staff were friendly and available, plenty of marshals. Groups on course let us play through every time. Enjoyed the vertical aspects of the hole layouts, not too many blind shots. Our twosome played in 3 hours and 10 mins.
Pretty good. Dry summer conditions
The greens were fast and in really good shape. Tee boxes were serviceable could use a bit of love. The fairways are still green but very dry. Was difficult to take divots because of the drought conditions. Overall in good shape for a summer drought season but could def use some rain. Bunkers could use a little more sand but like most public courses always suffer a bit.
Dry & Fast
Greens were dry and extremely fast.
Great Greens
You need a little local knowledge to score well here. Very hilly and decent layout, but the greens make the course. Pro shop told me they installed "Champions" Bermuda six or seven years ago. Previous critique mentioned bare spots. Not so! They are immaculate for such heavy play.. Would go back in a heart beat, now that I have some inside knowledge.
Great value
Play is slow but the course is nice and you can't beat the value. Greens are great.
fathers
great day on course, it was in good shape considering the lack of rain in the area.
Very nice track
The layout of this course is very good. But the condition is only average. Tee boxes were decent but I often had to hunt for a nice spot to tee off from. Greens rolled well but had issues in certain spots (dry, missing grass or damaged).
Overall it was fun and I'd go back for another round.
Great greens
Every aspect was great - supe Fast greens. No expensive shrubs - otherwise 4.5 stars
Time of day is important
Pace of play was great until the later afternoon hours (we started at 1pm as a 3-some). After we started the back 9 (after less than 2 hrs), we had 2 singles and then a 2-some quite anxious to speed through the course, so we let them through. At the 6th hole, yet another 2-some descended upon us, again, very anxious to rush through the course. As our play had already been delayed by letting the others through, we played out the course.
Great day at Bradshaw Farms!
Loved the overall layout and elevation changes. Nothing was "tricked up". Even had a beverage cart circling the course (on a Thursday!). Staff was GREAT and moved our tee time up for us when we got there early. Played the Red and White nines (there is also a Blue nine) and only issue was one tee box getting re-done on the White nine. Did not affect the integrity of the hole though. First time at BF, but I will definitely return!
Great Course
I would play this course again
Tough layout but beautiful course.
Greens are excellent, fairways good, but the traps are horrible. They need to downsize the traps and/or convert some to grass bunkers if they're not going to maintain them. Some traps had standing water, some were hard and unraked, some had good soft sand, and some had pea gravel mixed with sand. They all needed work! Pace of play was extremely slow, about 5 hours. I would only recommend playing here if you lived close by and could play on $28 Tuedays.
You sure you were playing Bradshaw because there is not a missing blade of grass on any of there greens!
