Anderson Creek Golf Club
About
When Anderson Creek Golf Club first opened in 2001 it was immediately recognized as the "Best New Golf Course in North Carolina." The course was designed by 1997 PGA Championship winner Davis Love III, it was his first signature design in North Carolina. It has a traditional layout that epitomizes golf in the Carolina Sandhills. The layout features rolling emerald fairways lined with towering pines and undulating greens bordered by large roll-off areas, a tribute to the classic Donald Ross designs that are prevalent in the Sandhills. The challenging golf course has tricky doglegs and there are a variety of elevation changes throughout. Water comes into play on a few holes at Anderson Creek Golf Club, most memorably though on the par-3 fourth, which demands a carry over a large lake. Strategically placed bunkers also lurk along the greensides.

The par-3 fourth hole plays over water. Photo submitted by JasonDeeganGA on 12/20/2013
Great layout and value!
Anderson Creek is a great course, especially for the green fees charged.
Challenging, Beautiful course
Great Course. Would love to play again when it isn't quite so hot.
Nice…but slow
As usual course was in good shape and staff was friendly. Got behind a twosome that were painfully slow and wouldn’t let anyone play through. Cart path only was a bummer but it was pretty wet so that is understandable.
Great Course
I only got to play the front nine due to an injury. The shop staff offered a nine hole rain check even though I had a GN prepaid Hot Deal. Huge bonus points there.
The conditions here were better than what I could get at courses in Raleigh, and $20 cheaper on a Sunday morning. I was in the first group off and we finished the front in 90 minutes (even with my injury). A variety of approach shots, forced carries on par 3s, and risk-reward par 5s make this a very fun course.
I live an hour away, but I'll certainly be back
Brink drinks !
I played this course a week ago and enjoyed it so much I came back. I usually only comment on the course but realize the people you come in contact there can also make or break your experience. So we had to wait till 12:10 to tee off because maintenance was top dressing the greens. No big deal , right ?!?! Pro shop and starter adamant about that but failed to mention there was no water on the course to drink on this 90 plus degree day and the restaurant/ snack bar was closed due to renovation. As a twosome we zipped around the front 9 rather quickly until we got to 10 and noticed a threesome on 11 ????? Well the starter threw them out on the back 9 and we ended up waiting on them for quite a few holes. Anyway greens still rolled great with the fresh maintenance and except for some obvious repairs going on in the fairways the course is a great course to play on ! I mentioned the no water on course n pro shop kindly gave me a complimentary water ! Definitely play here but bring drinks ….
Great track!
A little maintenance. But not bad!...airation just about grown in...ejoyed playing!
Challenging course.
This course is a lot more challenging then I had imagined going into it. You must think about all of your shots out there. It is well maintained and is a lot of fun.
The only problem had here-before,
1) Once I had to wait 20 minutes for a cart to return to the clubhouse before we could tee off, I’m not sure what the problem was but other then that it was a great course.
I recommend to intermediate golfers.
Great course in poor condition
This a great layout, but needs some time to dry out. Also, bunkers need major work. Water was so deep and murky in the bunkers I lost 2 balls in them. Pump the water out, it last rained 2 days ago! The greens were extremely slow and bumpy, aerified in the last 2-3 weeks. No warning on GolfNow about the greens. I also called the course prior to booking and was told the greens were “fine.”
Enjoyed playing this course
First time visitor to this course. The course is in a gated community. Check in was easy and the course is marked clearly and was able to navigate thru the course without a problem. Course layout is challenging but fair. Fairways are beautiful. The greens were punched about 3 weeks ago, so you may get a bump or 2 when putting. Overall I got a great price and a great looking course. I will return in the fall.
Nice course. Slow play
First time playing this course. Good layout. Well maintained. Friendly staff.
There was a ranger around frequently but pace of play still poor.
People still play way too slow. I was also paired with some players who were also slow- tried to diplomatically encourage them faster play but to no avail.
Ready golf ( providing you respect common golf courtesy) doesn’t mean playing out of turn. Just being ready!
Bring several clubs around the green. Don’t have to mark every putt. Don’t take too long looking for lost balls
Shouldn’t take over 4.5 hrs to play 18
Truly a nice course though!
