great experience
Course in great shape. The greens were much improved than the last time I played it (5 months ago)
I love this course. Its pretty and challenging just enough. Never crowded.
Great Afternoon at Tillery Tradition
I enjoyed a great afternoon of golf at Tilliery. The course was in great shape and is quite challenging. There are many scenic views. The staff there was very friendly. I'll definitely be back again and again...
Excellent course
I feel the course is one of the best. The greens were a little bumpy because they were recently aerated. I figure in a week they will be in excellent condition. It's a beautiful area. If I weren't playing golf I believe I would bring a bottle of wine and a picnic lunch just to be on the course. It''s that nice.
Tradition
An absolute gem. A hidden jewel in the forest. Don't miss the chance to play this virtually unknown golf course. The Tillery Tradition is all about what golf should be, and once was, but now hard to find. The fairways were well cut, the rough fair, and the bunkers well kept. As for the greens, excellent, considering they had just been aerated. We'll be back.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful Course and very challenging . If you didn't know better you'd think you were playing in the mountains. Only minor drawback was a few greens had some minor issues, but looked as though the staff was all over it and I expect them all to be in excellent shape soon. Still a bit early to expect much else. If you have a chance, play this course. You won't regret it!
Fun Course
This was a fun course to play and a great value at $22 each. It wasn't too long for my wife from the reds and was a nice fit for me from the whites. Greens are sloping and putt well even though they had recently been aerated. We had an excellent time on a beautiful day.
Great layout and a fun course
The place is fun to play, a great layout, beautiful clubhouse and friendly staff. Greens were plugged and almost unputtable, give it some time for the greens to come in and you wont be disappointed
Disappointed
I wish I had known that they were aerating the greens; I probably still would have played, but when I reached the back 9, no flags were on the greens and the loose plugs were still laying on the greens. I've got a feeling that the back was supposed to be closed but nobody in the clubhouse said anything about it. I'm so glad that it was at least a gorgeous day.
Greens plugged
Course should put notice on golf now that the greens have been plugged and unplayable.....not a good business practice
Tillery Traditions course condition
Normally this is a great challeging course. But this time out they were plugging the greens, very bumpy and holes. The back nine had no flags/cups. Not fun on this trip out. The courses should say/tell you when they do this. Thanks
Early Returns
I've always loved this course, great facilities, good people and a beautiful layout. The course is good shape for this time of year. Most greens were in good shape, although it's obvious they lost a few greens and are in the process of getting them ready for spring. Still worth the trip and money.
Good Value
Played this round in January 2016, so Bermuda fairways/rough was dormant. Had rained recently, so very soggy. Full of grass in fairways and roughs, so should be very nice when turns green. Bent greens were very good in design, and average in condition, having areas that never recovered from the summer heat. Very large, modern clubhouse. Good hot dog at the turn. All staff very nice. I definitely look forward to playing this course again when grass starts growing. Good layout. Offer some great deals on golf websites, but my 1.75 hour drive will keep me from playing often.
greens are in good shape I enjoyed playing the tillery tradition I would recommend this couse
The greens was great I love playing the tillery tradition I would recommend this courses two all ages
Good time
First time and hopefully not the last. Greens were spotty. Great deal on Golf Now. I saw 3 other groups on the course, so pace of play was totally up to me.
One of the best
This is one of my favorites and if not for the distance I have often thought about applying for membership. I have always liked the layout and the pace of play (it plays fast)... We played it in 4hrs. 15 mins and I'm sure we were behind the slowest group on the course. The course is setup for challenge and play ability for any level. The greens roll very good but are a work in progress that I'm sure they will return to full beauty as they have improved tremendously from their condition a couple months ago.
Nice Layout - Greens need work
The course itself is a great layout. The greens were in pretty rough shape. Fairways average. We got such a great deal couldn't pass it up. Hopefully by spring the greens will be fixed.
leisurely stressless round
greens were sanded and not true to form for accurate putting The course has nice scenery and is not terribly long, so it is not hard to reach the greens in regulation
Great Track off the beaten path
Let me start off fist saying that for $13 for green fee and cart - was a real bargain!! The course had a good mixture of wholes - loved the track. Only complaint was the greens were hit or miss some where good others a bit rough. It may have been the time of year mid-November. Too many leaves lost a few balls in the fairway. Will certainly come back next spring.
Intermediate
Great track and nice layout.
Great shape except for some greens on front nine.
Must play.
Nice Carolina Course - Great Fun
This is a very good, very fair course tee to green. The greens were in bad shape - the Summer in NC was terrible for greens - but playable. Sometimes we had to move the ball in order to have a clear path to the hole. Everything else was in tip-top shape.
