Well layed out and maintained course

This was my first visit to Tillery Tradition since the new clubhouse was built. What a pleasant surprise from the old maintenance barn. The course was in excellent condition and pace of play was speedy. A must play on the way to Pinehurst and Southern Pines from Charlotte. If already in Pinehurst you should make the short trip to Tillery. It is well worth it.

This is an excellent course, and will give you a great challenge

The course has the total package. Great course layout without any fairways paralleling each other taking advantage of the natural topography of the land, tough pin placements, well thoughtout tee boxes, restrooms on the course were in great shape, and the club house was very well done along with a very nice restaurant. The cost to play the course was also very low considering the quality of the course and the amenities.

Great lay out .Its not uncommon to see wildlife such as deer and red foxes crossing the fairways.

The course was in good shape.Greens great and rolled true.Tees had plenty of grass and were mowed .The rough is a resonable height but thick and it's easy to loose balls if you are not careful. The only negative was that a few of the traps were not raked.

great hidden gem

This was my first time playing Tillery Tradition and I was very impressed with the layout. It's a hilly golf course with generous driving areas but places a premium on second shots to the greens. Course was very well maintained. Lots of sand traps.

Beautiful course

A really great course...panoramic views, well kept, and very challenging. Some long holes, and many blind holes. Will play here again.

All reward or all pain

Bring extra golf balls. Tillery Tradition packs a punch with wayward tee shots but at the same time can be the most rewarding with accuracy off the tee box.
Great views on a wonderful course design Tillery Tradition is fun to play. I always enjoy a trip to Montgomery County for a round at Tillery Tradition.

Recommended as a course to play

Have been aerorated and in good shape. When I make 3 birds and lip out 2 more, you know it's in good shape. Got to play fast because it was not crowded, played thru 2 twosomes and finished in just over 2 hours.

The clubhouse is almost worth the money and time just to see it.

The golf course is incredible. There are traps and rocks and water and we seen many baby deer walking along the edge of the woods. It is kinda of out in the middle of no where so bring you some extra time to spend just looking at nature.

Imacculate Condition

The course was in great shape. Very nice tee areas, the only green that had a few marks was the 18th. The amount to play was very reasonable. I played at a course on Sat at a much higher cost and it was terrible compared to Tillery. I drove 80 miles to play Tillery and I would do it again. Please review my reservation to make sure I didnt get charged for three rounds instead of only one that I played.

Nice outing

Booked the round for less than $20. Played in the late afternoon on a Sunday and the course was nearly deserted. Fairways were in good shape, teeboxes too. Greens had recently been aerated but I was alerted to it beforehand. Course offers a variety of challenge for various skill levels. Played off the yellow tees, which are about the same length as the whites but offer easier approach shots. We enjoyed our round thoroughly, worth the hour's drive from Charlotte.

Nice course for the money

Showed up on time and was told we should have called first. had 9am tee time booked. no more than 4 or 5 other cars (several were probably employee cars) there and were told next available tee time was 1120am. course is almost never busy and tee time was booked late the night before. will not use web site again for this course as we were made to feel unwelcome there.

GREAT!

Tillery Tradition was in great shape from tee to green. Our experience was excellent from the friendly staff, to the driving range set up, and all the way through the entire 18 holes. Tees are set up to accommodate any level of expertise. Because the location is not near a 'golf area' or near a large city, I would definitely call this course a HIDDEN GEM. I will be playing there again next week.

Visually challanging and quirky

Perhaps the voluminous rain we have had prevented mowing but the tee boxes were the height of first cut rough (ball on tee was just slightly above the grass), the fairways were fluffy, the rough was US Open "light" . Numerous holes started with blind drives and #18 the line for the drive was straight down the 8' wide blacktop cart path.
Don't even think of walking this course. Being a development course there are hole in entirely different zip codes.
A fun course to play. Probably more enjoyable the second time.

Beautiful course for the money.

I would say that for the price it is not even comparable to other courses around. Can't beat the value to play a course this well maintained.

Good Value

With the GolfNow discounts it was a good value. The greens were in great shape and the layout from club house to course was beautiful. The course was not very challenging... Other than some longer than average holes there was very little water or sand. This is still a great course to visit especially for an average golfer wanting to post a good score and have a good time!

Staff: Extremely friendly and gave great information about course layout.

Staff was extremely friendly and course layout was very pleasing. A few blind shots on the course that require good shot placement. Greens are in excellent condition and well maintained. Certainly will be playing again and highly recommend this course.
