No second cutting
I like this course but there is virtually no second cut at fairway edge. 1 inch off the fairway you are in 2-3 inches of fine blade grass and a totally hidden ball... lost four balls which I expected to find on fairway!
The club house is amazing
I would have giving this course five stars but the
Recent weather stop me from doing this. It's a up
And coming place I bet in a few years the homes
Will be build up around it and the course will be packed
Play it now while you have the chance. We had a
great time. Worth the ride from Concord.
Course superb staff jerks!!!
The course was in great condition for the time of the year unfortunately the staff wasn't so friendly... They refused to get us any range balls because they didn't have time. Secondly we couldn't get any refreshments because the cafe was closed and they didn't have a closed sign so we walked on in and then got fussed at for being in there... Next time lock the doors!! Last but not least there was a group of golfers behind us who we tried to let play through 3 diff times and they refused but stayed on our butts and almost hit my friend so I threw that ball in the woods!!! I can't stand playing in front of great golfers who are jerks!!! Otherwise course is awesome!!!
This course is just fun to play.
Beautiful mountain course. Elevation changes on nearly every hole. From just a mild slope to rather significant drops and rising terrain. Nice variety of par 3's from short to longish. While on the subject of length, there are 5 sets of tees. With one added recently between the blues and the whites, so you will always find a comfortable distance from which to play. Also, there is a fair amount of water around. Some is definitely in play, while some would need a relatively errant shot to find.
In my humble opinion, if you play the Tillery, you will likely want to return for another round. Enjoy.
Love this golf course!!! Fun to play
I live in Pinehurst. There are 43 golf courses within 8 minutes of my house. Tillery is a 45 minute drive and we don't mind the drive at all; the course is that good. Our regular group consists of about 20, 1 -15 handicap golfers. Every time we announce the game is at Tillery attendance increases. If there is one beef with the course it may be the inconsistent condition of the greens. It has been a recent complaint from our guys, but we still come back. They will get better soon I hope. Play this course..you won't regret it.
Great at reasonable price, super friendly staff
Great condition, fantastic layout. Hiden gem, only close to Lake Tillery. If located closer to populated area price would triple. Well worth the drive though. Friendliest staff anywhere.
Great Time on Round
Was able to play 18 in a little over 3 hours. For a Saturday afternoon it was a very quick round. Little traffic on this particular day. If you don't mind the drive from Charlotte it is a great deal for the money and the course was in good shape.
Hills
Really enjoyed the course, cannot what to play it in the fall, The staff was great.
Great course, Great location
Great course to play. It's been a rough winter in NC so the course wasn't in the greatest shape. Several tee boxes had no grass & the fairways were soaked from recent snow & rain. Play this course often & never had any issues. Hopefully spring will bring the course back up to the normal. Set in a beautiful location. Wide open fairways & course is golfer friendly, however a few holes are difficult. A long course. Wouldn't plan on walking this one.
Nice layout
Very wet the day we played and greens were in tough shape. Played this last year around same time of year and course seemed to be in better shape. We are from NH and expected better conditions. Price was right, thank goodness.
