Top notch
Greens were great. Fairways were the best I played in NC (played 5 courses). Tee boxes were good. Great character to the course. I would love to play it again some time.
This course has a wonderful layout
Wow! What a great golf course! The fairways and greens were in great shape, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. A must play for the area.
Good Day on A Hard Course
Deerbrook is an excellent golf course. A lot of holes are tough, but it does have some birdie holes out there too. Always in great shape, with very tricky greens. A must play, if you have never played this course before.
Never better
This is my regular course but first time I have made it out in over a month. The course has never been in better shape. It looks great. The clubs member guest tournament is this weekend and they have the course in great shape. All the grass is cut. The greens are fast and true. Bunkers weren't in great shape but we had a bad storm last night. And all for $26 afternoon rate. I've paid more than twice that for a course in not nearly as good shape. The course is pretty tough and a little long from the white tees. But go play a round there, you won't be sorry.
Favorite Course in Area
Great course in good condition and a very good deal for the money.
Pleasant Surprise
Very pleasantly surprised to find such a nice golf course and community a little off the beaten path. Easy to get to though. Beautiful clubhouse. Fabulous bent grass greens. Such a joy to be able to putt consistently compared to all the mini-verde you have to play on nowadays. Cart paths were exceptional. Hole layout and distances were well marked. Most holes are rolling and fairly open but a few tight shots here and there. Will definitely come back again.
This course is fun and challenging
The tee boxes were in great shape, fairways had some thin spots, appears to be because of hard winter, Greens were in above average condition, ran true and were ssemi- fast. Will definitely be back.
Worth the drive
This course is one of the the hidden gems on Golf Now. Its in Shelby NC so it is a little bit of a drive from everywhere but well worth it. Nice range, putting green, and a very challenging chipping green. The views are nice and the fairways are mostly wide. Bring your short game as the greens are large and unjulating. If you happen to play on a windy day this course will give you all you can handle. Great value!!
First Timer
Staff was excellent and very friendly.
Course was somewhat difficult due to the speed of the greens and especially with the sloping of "every green".
Confused on several holes as to which way to go and even played to the wrong green on hole #17 due to confusion.
No rakes in several of the bunkers and sand was not in good condition.
Would like to try again in the summer when grass is better and greens are grown in a little.
Good Day for Golf
Great deal found on GOLFNow. I am ready to go back. Beautiful course that is challenging but not overwhelming. If I had to complain about something was that it took 20 mins for hotdogs. Next time I will Pay attention to the sign on Number 8 that recommended for you to place your order in ahead of time. Otherwise, a fine establishment.
Couldn't ask for better
Loved every hole had some hard holes wouldn't recommend this for a beginner
Course is in good shape.
Greens are in great shape except for #10 at the front left corner and that is where they decided to put the hole on the day I played. Just wish players would fix their divots, not only here but at every course. Bunkers could use some more sand.
A True Test!!
Deerbrook is one of the nicest courses in the foothills of NC. Friendly staff, and excellent facilities. Be sure to bring your A game, as their greens are fast and challenging! A true test of any skill level!
Good Golf in December
This was our first time golfing in NC during the winter months. The greens were in very good shape. It was different playing in the dormant brown fairways. Just a different look and feel. This is a nice course with a nice layout. Would like to play in the summer months.
I would recommend this course although maybe not for beginners
Great Day!
course was in terrific shape given winter conditions. While the Bermuda fairways were dormant the turf was easy to hit off of. Greens were perfect, quick and smooth. The course is generally pretty forgiving so it can be a fun day.
Hard to read
Had a great time on this course. Greens were very challenging, only problem was that the sand traps were alfull,
difficulty
i met up with two guys from another state and they also thought it was very very difficult to read the greens and they were very very fast. don't know if they will come back because of that reason. i will be back. allen smith
This course is in great condition!
Great course! Very challenging for all handicaps. I will play there again very soon. The staff seemed very pushy at tee time, but they were very busy and I understood. The biggest negative was paying 4 dollars for 10 range balls!!!
This course is challenging but fair, and in great condidion.
Have enjoyed the course both times I have played it The white tees are not too long enough for average players and the fairways are wide. The greens are in great shape but can be quite challenging.
Deerbrook
Played Deerbrook on 11/08/2014 and it was a beast. The golf course was in great shape for this time of year and the greens were smooth and fast. It was a challenge playing because their was so much wind and all the pin placements were put on the side of hills and couldnt get the ball to stop near the hole. On some of the holes when the wind picked up the ball would move when you would go to putt. But for $25.00 on a Saturday we had a lot of fun.
