Good
If you are looking for a good round on a challenging course then Deer Brook is a good place to go try. It’s longer than most courses around. And while the rough isn’t bad and there is plenty of room to hit the ball on most holes, the elevation changes, length, and areas on and around the greens make it very challenging. The course is in good shape except the bunkers which had not been raked since it rained the day before. Greens were smooth and fast. The bent grass hasn’t gotten beat up too bad this summer yet. Fairways and tee boxes in good shape as well. All in all a solid challenging course.
Good
Good, I like playing here....would play more, but ways to go for me....
Sweet Track, Great for the money
For 45 on a weekday it’s hard to beat.
Solid fairways, only ding is people not filling their divots but the staff can’t control that.
Greens are good, some hallmarks but they rolled great with as much rain as we got the past few days. Not (((
Golf
It was really kept up and really nice for the price to play I would definitely come back and ply
Where have you been all my life…
Played every club in my bag on the way to falling in love with DB!
Great topography, fast greens, sand traps manicured, difficult and so satisfying- this isn’t for the faint of heart or the timid. Shotmaking is needed as you traverse the undulating fairways of a troubled youth only to be greeted with diabolical greens tempting you play above the hole on your way to a three putt bogey….
Enjoy, but don’t read this and think you’ll score the first time you play, it’s a learned course and by 18 you’ll want to play again and again.
Great value
Fantastic value! Enjoyed the layout and yardage from the white tees. Pace of play was fast until hole #14 where a group of teenage boys slowed everything down. They were literally sitting in the green for minutes “reading” their putts. I evenrtuslly drove around them and skipped a hole. I live near black mountain, NC and have played most courses within 75-minutes from there. Deer Brook has become one of my favorite courses and likely the most value. I only paid $36 to play 18 holes on a weekday afternoon.
DEER BROOK
Place looks like a $100 course in charlotte for half the price…..not too easy but not too challenging….couple holes are dangerous for slicers but overall great place definitely will be back again!!
Hidden Gem
This course is definitely worth the green fees. It's a drive from Charlotte area but worth it. It's in excellent condition. The greens keeper definitely knows what he's doing. Highly recommended.
Fun course
The greens are quite a bit faster than I am used to. Fairways are in very nice shape already. Fun course that is generally hard to lose balls in. (I did it though!)
One of the nicest public courses in this area.
We were a 2some behind a 4 some of nice old guys having a great time. They were right behind another 4 some, so they couldn't go anywhere. The round was less than 4 hours.
It was an enjoyable day. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Gaston CC was closed and gave my wife and myself a chance to play. I'll probably play this course again for a change of pace.
Surprise at check in
Staff was great! Friendly , professional, however, front nine was closed for aeration of the greens. Frustrated that this was the first time to play this course but had no idea. I paid for a twosome to play the back nine twice. The course was in good shape, fast undulating greens and good challenging layout. Wish we could have enjoyed the entire 18. back nine was being punched the following day. We Will be back to play in a month once both sides are back to peak.
