The signature hole on the Championship Course is #12, a 452-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot through a cypress forest to an island green.
This 7,161 yards, par 71 course has narrow fairways, a deep rough as well as plenty of water and bunkers. Enjoy the fast greens and the excitement of knowing you're on one of the best.

Tee shot on #8 par 3 Photo submitted by tmlo on 05/05/2013
Delays and more delays
I had a tee-time @3:06 pm left at 4:05 pm. not really possible to play 18 holes, as the pace was very slow, and we had to quite playing at tee 15th.
Champions course
Greens are nice and big and receptive. Tees boxes need work. No ball washers to be found and no sand to fill divots. Also, no one fixes ball marks
Good course but surroundings are a bit nasty
First time playing, paired with another nice twosome and starter was very nice. Pace of play was very good. Greens were in great condition. Fairways were pretty decent. Layout of holes was interesting. As a female golfer I thought the course was very fair from ladies tees and allowed me to be competitive with the men in the foursome.
My only real complaint is that the golf course is situated in the middle of some very old condos that are very dilapidated and I felt like I was playing in an unsafe area at times. On the one par 3 I actually couldn’t wait to finish the whole as there was a huge fight going on in the parking lot and I was concerned what may happen and spread to course.
The golf play was quite nice and enjoyable, just wish the surroundings were cleaned up. Assuming course wishes the same thing.
watch out
After 9 holes rains came. 3 inches made course unplayable. rainchecks given to. nongolnow players. we were told to contact. golfnow. I gave golfnow all info...have not heard a thing...why bother...go nothing. be careful.
Will Be Back - Did not disappoint
Played Colony West - Championship course last year and tried it again after our good experience. Did not disappoint once again.
Check in was fantastic in the pro shop. They were polite and efficient. Starter got us off early. Course in good shape. Greens rolling fast and bunkers were raked and neat. Beverage cart on the course and the restaurant was open. Will be back again this year and again next year
Very Busy at the Starting Gate but Well Managed
I guess as most courses in March the pace was brutal. They need a Ranger or someone to manage the pace on the course to wake up some golfers that there are other groups trying to play a normal time-efficient round. Other than that this course is a great value!
Good Not Great but Just Ok
I’ve been led to believe you can’t always trust the reviews on GN for better or worse. I’ve played courses with bad reviews and they turned out to be fantastic and vice versa.
Colony West has an amazing layout and that won’t change for as long as the course is what it is today. It will test your golf imagination and challenge you to select the right club and make the right choices through your round.
The downside of this course is the inconsistency of the course conditions and pace of play. I’ve played this course a handful of times during this season because it’s affordable and satisfies the fix us golfers need at times. The green conditions are acceptable but the pitch marks that don’t get repaired are destroying the only thing the course has going for them right now. Greens are healthy and roll true, the speed is not what other reviews are claiming. Only 1x this season that I’ve played have the greens really been running “fast”. The pace of play is horrendous. My tee time was 2:12 and finished at 6:45, which is unacceptable. Plan a 5 hour round when you play here, esp. on a weekend. I blame the lack of organization from the starter.
Nevertheless, pick your poison in south Florida, pay $100 plus for a course with mid conditions or play Colony west Champ course for no more than $60 with all things considered.
Good course for the money
Paid $70 and felt that was a very good deal for a nice course. Greens were great. Fairway grass was pretty thin. No driving range is a drawback. Would definitely play it again.
Great course
I played here many times and enjoy both the Glades and the Championship course. The Championship course is in great condition with wide fairways. The only disadvantage is the bag drop point. You cannot drive carts to your car and there was no one to help me with my bags after I played. The bag drop is a ways away from where you turn in the carts. Parking is a real problem due to the new hotel just built. Otherwise, it was an enjoyable day.
