Championship at Colony West Country Club

This course is in lousy condition from tee to green and outside the lines as well, curbs, cart paths etc. The layout itself is nice. The outside staff not helpful at all. Here’s a key, cart 49, and I’m lugging the clubs to put them on the cart and unloaded after the round and carried them to the car, no club cleaning. That’s not such a bad thing but when you check in they have a big tip box right in front of you saying tips are appreciated. This was our third round for the week and we tipped the starter in both places and the bagroom guys for cleaning down and sending clubs to bag drop. Tips need to be earned not coerced. New clubhouse is nice.

I really like the layout and challenge of Colony West Champion Course. There are a number of dried out and burnt areas of the fairways but overall it’s in pretty good shape.

I think the weather being very hot and humid is not helping the course. Put an extra person behind the bar would help. The wait is long when you order something when you are in a hurry. She has to enter everything in the computer. That is taking lots of time. But food was good

Tee box, fairways and greens in sub-par conditions.

Far better courses in the area, but at under $70 for 18, not too bad. I found the greens hard and super fast. Fairways can be sparse with grass.

I grew up playing this course and it has been quite some time since playing here. The new clubhouse, hotel and restaraunt are very nice. The course layout is always challenging, the greens were rolling great but the fairways and overall condition of the course was not at its best.

$75 for crappy fairways and terrible rough. Greens were ok and fast. It’s comparable to a low end muni.

I played the Championship course in late December. It was in fantastic conditions with the newly renovated tee boxes, fairways and the greens. After 3 months it has gone tremendously downhill. Every ball in the fairway has a tight lie like hitting off concrete. There really isn't any rough, it is just bad ground. The greens are too hard/firm and you cannot control approach shots or putts. I am not sure if the Greenskeeper was in a crappy mood Sunday morning or not but the pin placement on at least half of the holes were ridiculous not only a few paces onto the green but most were on serious slopes and missed puts would sometimes go backwards. It is a nice layout but if you are out of town and looking to play a "Championship" course this is not a level of "championship" it is just the name of it.
