Championship at Colony West Country Club

$75 for crappy fairways and terrible rough. Greens were ok and fast. It’s comparable to a low end muni.

I played the Championship course in late December. It was in fantastic conditions with the newly renovated tee boxes, fairways and the greens. After 3 months it has gone tremendously downhill. Every ball in the fairway has a tight lie like hitting off concrete. There really isn't any rough, it is just bad ground. The greens are too hard/firm and you cannot control approach shots or putts. I am not sure if the Greenskeeper was in a crappy mood Sunday morning or not but the pin placement on at least half of the holes were ridiculous not only a few paces onto the green but most were on serious slopes and missed puts would sometimes go backwards. It is a nice layout but if you are out of town and looking to play a "Championship" course this is not a level of "championship" it is just the name of it.

Decent golf course ruined by the shady lady on the golf cart. She guilted us into buying warm ham sandwiches and then gave herself a bigger tip on the credit card without authorization. Sandwiches ended up being $15 each. Check your transactions if you buy anything from her.

Enjoyed the layout of the course. Several dog-leg holes, was glad I played with twosome that was familiar.

The greens were thin on grass in areas and fairly fast.

Probably going down hill since Jackie Gleason played golf here
