Tee shot on #8 par 3 Photo submitted by tmlo on 05/05/2013
This course in poorly maintained
The staff was not upfront about the conditions of the course all sand traps were off limit. The tee’s were all blocked off, the greens were not in great shape. The course only wanted to make their tee time booked without disclosing the conditions. Very disappointing.
Rebuilding for season
Course had rates $10-15 cheaper than usual, but it's because all tee boxes and bunkers are closed. Wouldn't recommend returning unless you're just out for a quick practice round and don't mind picking up, etc. Greens were in great shape, but you have to tee-off from the start of the fairways. Most if not all bunkers on the course are being re-graded, re-filled, and are being sodded on their perimeter. There are crews on almost every hole so it was pretty sketchy worrying about hitting someone when trying to play.
A bigger problem is that almost everyone in the area is behaving like the course is closed. People were walking through the course like it was a park, lots of dog walkers and lots of dog poop on the outsides of the cart paths. Watch your step.
Golf staff were all great per usual. Everything should come out really nice for the winter golf season once they finish all the work.
Colony West
We played the champ course. The course didn’t have any tee boxes and the tees were in the rough just short of the fairway on every hole. Played as a 2 some and ran into 3 different groups of 3. Each did not let us play through after running into each while still hitting their tee shots on the following hole. Greens were terrible as well but the staff was some of the most kind and funny people I have dealt with in a while while on the golf course. 0/10, will never play here again even if it was free.
Under construction
The tee boxes were under construction and Golf Now didn't notified it, the course is a mess
Great course
Was under a construction when I was there. However the course has lots of potential.
Don't Play this course right now
The course is getting worked on. The tee boxes are all closed. The greens are not in great shape right now either. The sand traps are full of green water and are currently unplayable. There are signs that say to not hit your ball in the sand traps.
This is a terrific course when it's in good shape. I was told they'll be up and ready before Thanksgiving. Hopefully it's sooner than that.
Course under repair
This course is under repai and should be closed until completed. Tee boxes are not open and temp tee boxes are at the beginning of the fairway. Bunkers are not open and are under repair, although very few workers working. No way we should have been charged $38 for a round. Bar and staff were very nice, but we were there to play golf, not have lunch.
Great course but under maintenance, not good to play at this time
Great course but under maintenance, not good to play at this time
Do not book this course.
Still construction is going on.
They’re supposed to sell the tee time.
All the tee boxes are not opened, all the bunkers abandoned, all the green’s are not ready.
Just wasted money n time.
Should be in great condition in two years but not now.
Lastly, the lady who worked at the pro shop does not qualify for public service.
Needs more education on the job.
Good greens and fairways but everything else was in bad shape
Tee boxes are under construction. We had a 9am tee time and on 4 of the holes their sprinklers were on. This wouldn’t be an issue but they were also on the make-shift tee boxes in the fairway. We had to tee off on these holes in the rough. Bunkers are filled with rocks and are also under construction. After their construction is done it may be a good course as the layout is really cool and challenging.
Tboxes being fixed
Tboxes being fixed. Rough bunkers. Greens could be better. Sprinklers came on several times.
Would come back once its fixed.
Tee boxes under repair
With the tee boxes under repair and the bunkers being replaced the course played completely different than what it should have. Not a very good day out at Colony West.
Colony west championship course
We know that the tee boxes were under construction and unusable…but The course was in very good shape. Greens are well-maintained. Traps could use an extra rake out but otherwise it was a great day
The tee boxes
Worst time I’ve played there. The tee boxes are renovating. Every one is ripped up. Horrible.
No tee boxes
Unbelievable how they can still be open during this renovation. Plus I play there a lot and they told me it wasn’t bad. Absolutely horrible. And for 40$. That is crazy. I wish I could get my money back. Don’t play for a few months there. Worst experience I’ve had in a white.
