Golfer Reviews
May Conditions 2021
Greens are in good shape but thick and slow.
Tee boxes are in bad shape on most holes.
Cart paths are in need of repair.
Fairways are in decent shape.
Not the best conditions but value for the price.
Lackluster and uninspiring design, conditions are ok
This course has a pretty unfun and boring layout. Does not present options other than “don’t hit it there.” And hit it exactly here. Tightish fairways, trees, out of bounds, water, you name it! Not exactly a good fit for a public course that gets a bunch of 15 handicaps coming through. The rough was not in a good shape, lots of weeds and not maintained. Tee boxes on some holes were more sand than grass. Greens were in decent shape but inconsistent on pace and mostly very slow. Fairways were in good shape.
No driving range which is fine, but noticeably absent for a course that dubs itself a “championship course.” Overall verrrry uninspiring and wholly forgettable. Must be better options out there.
Unmanaged Course
Greens are particularly good, and thats it! Completely run down course. There is no rough! Unfortunate because it could be a wonderful track but it needs to be closed and an investment of 2.5mil to just get it normal! 5-7mil will make it a great course. Very disappointed for $50!
Greens were fertilized
Course was in better shape a few months ago. greens were fertilized fairways hard and dry.
Colony West Champ Course - Spring 2021
The course and property has undergone significant improvement over the past 2 years although much work remains. The cart paths are in real bad shape and need to be redone. Some of the fairways are dirt and in some run down areas, Residents from the area walk aimlessly on the fairways in certain areas which is a major concern. On this past round there were two adolescents walking a dog on the course shooting what appeared to be a BB gun into the water at fish. I hope the city continues to work on the areas of concern because the course can be a decent option at a reasonable price for the area. There are other options in the area that I would prefer.
It’s going to be AWESOME
This place was great to play. Once they have the club house and restaurant open this will be a MUST PLAY!!!! We may make this a yearly trip we loved it so much!!!
Poor conditions
Course layout was nice but if you’re used to going to Country club’s the conditions here were very poor. If you’re used to going to public courses I would think it be about average. We played it twice the first time the pace of play was great and the second time we were backed up on every hole. I wouldn’t recommend it
