The Tradition Golf Club

Narrow fairways with dense woods or thick weeds very tight against the rough on almost every hole. Errant shots are going to be lost balls. If you're even a little wild off the tee, have lots of extra golf balls. For a muni course it's in decent shape but some the greens are very beat up. If you like narrow chutes, you'll like it. If you like courses that are more open, this is not it.

Due to heavy rain, the course was very wet. The greens are in poor condition. It appears the the greens have not recovered from the last aeration or were not sanded correctly. This, along with golfers not repairing ball marks, made for puts not rolling true. Fairways were in good shape. Layout is challenging.

This is one of my favorite courses in Charlotte. Great layout with a good mix of challenging and easier holes. The tee boxes and fairways are in great shape, but the greens have recently been aerated, so I’d probably wait another month or so before going back. I will definitely be back though, this course is a solid reliable standby.

Awesome course. Not too far from Uptown and a great bang for your buck. The staff has always been friendly and courteous every time I’ve played here. The only downside is that the greens have a bunch of unfixed ball marks which slows down the greens a little. Besides that everything else is in great shape.

The course was in good condition but the greens were way too slow.

This course is in great condition & the staff is proud of it. That makes a difference when you are checking into a course for the first time.

We had 4 in our group @ 9-25 range handicap & it is all you want from the white tees. We were looking for a challenge & it was perfect. We teed off @ 8:30 & greens sped up with the day to a great speed.

@ $59 on a Saturday I would expect a touch more, however given the CoronaSeason we are in right now it is understandable that amenities are not there. Pro shop is basically bare. One guy in my group was ready to spend $30-$60 on a belt but there was not one for sale. Bar at the turn is open, but beware. We went in for a 12 pack @ the turn. The server was present, packed two 6packs into bags w.ice, and then informed us that our MilllerLight purchase would total $36.00 before tip. Next time I'll smuggle a cooler Sheesh.

All in all a great course. Would recommend on occasion when you are feeling spunky.

Course in great shape, quick play. Greens just a little slow.

Despite the rain it was a great course. Fairway did not collect water at all. Greens were beautiful. Tight fairways on many holes but nothing special had to happen with drives, just keep it straight.

The course was in great shape, but pace of play was a definite problem. There was no starter out there in the afternoon to space the groups out. When my playing partner (whom I did not know) complained about the wait times on the tee boxes, he was just told that it was a public golf course and it was a Friday afternoon as if there was nothing they could do. Had the groups in front of us been told that they needed to play smart cart golf then things could have moved along better. Would still play there again though. Great design and everything was in great shape.

Great layout. Always enjoyed the course but they have let their greens go.

I booked this on GolfNow and they did not inform me of the greens were just airified and the greens were looked like they had clover patches growing in them. Would not recommend this course to a friend.

I play here a lot. The turf here is in great shape, tees and fairways are very healthy. Bunkers are in decent shape. Over the past month the greens have been hurt by the heat. There are some bare spots on the greens. That being said, they still roll ok and by no means is the course unplayable. If you want perfect greens though I would suggest playing somewhere else.
