The Tradition Golf Club

About
The routing for this scenic course was cut out of the woods and features beautiful, rolling terrain. Three of the fairways are testy dogleg configurations while the remaining holes are basically straightaway, which puts a premium on shots to the undulating bentgrass greens. But the course provides a fun test for all levels in a tree-lined natural setting with numerous elevation changes.
The Tradition features a comfortable 5,400 square foot clubhouse, with dining facilities and a fully stocked pro shop. A large range and putting green provide practice opportunities.

Pleasantly Surprised
Played Tradition on the 20th for the first time in a while, must say the overall conditions were very good. Nice to see work being done to improve the conditions. The staff was very pleasant and made me feel very welcome. Had one of those's jumbo hot dogs at the turn. WOW. I'll be back
I'll Play It Again
I had avoided The Tradition because I assumed this former Carolina Trail course was mediocre at best. Then I heard of some good reviews, so I thought I'd check it out.
Greens were slow but in nice shape (it had rained the previous night a lot). A few bare fairway spots, but this did not disrupt play. This course has fared better then many of the other courses in the area in terms of there actually being some green grass in the fairway. Bunkers in good shape too except for some non-raking patrons.
Course is pretty straight-forward, but fun to play. Good mix of easier and difficult holes. One really long par 4!
I played for $41.25 on the weekend, which wasn't bad (golfnow deal). The rack rate is a tad high, but I'll be back regardless.
Moving in the right direction
Have been hearing good things about Tradition over the last month so me and a couple of friends decided to check it out. I hadn't played there in over a year and I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. The greens were in great shape, good speed and free of ball marks, the fairways were a little thin in a couple of areas but overall very playable. I was only in 1 bunker but plenty of sand and raked. The staff was very friendly and appreciative of me coming out to play. Had a jumbo hot dog at the turn, filled me up. Played in 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Overall we had a very enjoyable morning and will definitely return!!
Beautiful Day of Golf
The course design was moderately challenging, but forgiving enough for straight shooters. I did not see a signature hole, one that just takes your breath away, but all of the holes were honest. There is enough sand on the course to require careful planning but the fairways were wide enough for the trees to not be an issue. Greens and fairways were well maintained.
drought season
In the mist of a drought the green were perfect, however the fairways and were dried up. Lots of dead spots. But again in a drought so hopeful when not in a drought this course is gorgeous.
Enjoyable
I was on vacation in Charlotte, North Carolina. I golf five of the six days I was there. Tradition Course was by far the better. It was in great shape nice greens enjoyable friendly staff.
Don't Pay Full Price
The layout is nice, and the greens are superb. Growing grass on the fairways and tee boxes is apparently impossible. LOTS of bare spots. If they solv those issues, then this is a heckuva nice course. Right now, not so much.
Love The Tradition
I always enjoy playing The Tradition. Very playable course and difficulty level is moderate.
The best shpe this course has been in over the last 14 years living in the area.
The greens were great, sand traps well groomed fairways typical brown Bermuda for the time of year. I was so pleased to see that the new owners brought back this course.
