Located just north of Tampa in Tarpon Springs, Crescent Oaks Country Club sprawls across rolling hills dotted with sparkling lakes. The narrow course has a traditional layout that was carefully carved from dense woodlands, making it a challenging test. The lakes as well as a meandering creek come into play throughout the golf course. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers along the greensides. The par-5 10th is one of the most memorable holes with an elevated green and a ridge cutting across the middle. Par is considered a good score on this tricky hole. The golf course finishes with a par-4 dogleg left that features water along the entire left side of the fairway. The green is also protected by sand on the right and water on the opposite side.

Crescent Oaks

This was my first time playing at Crescent Oaks. I have heard many positive reviews in the recent past and the course definitely lived up to its expectations. The tee boxes, fairways and greens are all well maintained. I played the course in less than 4 hours. I will definitely recommend it.

Why have a tee time?

While the course overall provided good value for the money, my experience was somewhat marred by a scheduling issue. I had a tee time, as did the group scheduled after us. Unfortunately, the starter allowed three additional groups without tee times to go ahead, causing delays. Despite being checked in and ready to play, I had to wait as two of these groups teed off before me. It seemed that one of them may have been a member, but I believe priority should have been given to the scheduled tee times.

Enjoyable Course

I play this course from time to time and it never disappoints. Greens and fairways are nice. Tee boxes need some work. Pace of play is generally good. Still a good value

Not worth it

I paid way too much for that course. The reviews don't do it justice of how bad it was.

Great Value

In my mind, it is one of the best values in the area. Greens, fairways, tees and traps all in good condition. The back 9 is a great layout, with the 18th an absolute beast, especially into the wind. Front is shorter and still pretty good.

Staff was generally friendly. Would have been better if there was a cart girl or some water coolers, but no biggie.

I can't understand the ratings on this course.

Staff was super friendly but the course isn't in the shape I was expecting for $70.00 and the reviews it has. Almost every fairway is or has bunch of crab grass or no grass at all if you miss a fairway it will cost a stroke since the rough is super grabby and the ball is completely hidden. The bunkers were in bad shape too and the surroundings are also missing grass so unfortunately playing as it lies isn't an option. The greens are probably the best part of the course when it comes to conditions but they are so tiny that missing a shot by three or four yards means you will be chipping from the aforementioned killer rough.

Overall I wouldn't pay what I did for the conditions and for overall pace of play.

Not a 4 star course

The ratings on both GolfNow and Google are highly inflated compared to the real condition of this course.

Nice track but not well maintained. Greens are shockingly tiny and clearly need to be redone along with the tee boxes.

With accurate expectations this could be a nice day of golf but only at $50 price and knowing it’s not maintained like a legit track at this point.

Good Experience

Overall, the course is in good shape. The only exception, and it's very obvious, is the tee boxes, which are mostly uneven and shredded. The greens were true and pretty fast, pace was pretty good (Saturday), fairways nice, and the rough, penal, but fair.

If any course would benefit golfers by having the digital views, with distances to hazards, this is one of those.

I will come back, and can recommend.

Great course with hot conditions

The weather was quite hot so playing was harder as as expected. The layout was good and the greens were very fast. The fairway could use and extra mowing but was ok
