About
Wentworth Golf Club is routed through a scenic and varied landscape of woods and wetlands. At 6,459 yards, the golf course is relatively short but it offers a demanding, target-style layout. The course has narrow fairways and small greens that run fast. The front nine is routed through towering stands of cypress trees, pines, and mature oaks while the back nine has a more links-style layout that will test your shot-making skills. Water hazards come into play on several holes but the far more prominent features of the course are the massive bunkers that lurk beside the fairways and greens, ready to swallow even slightly errant shots. Careful strategy is required throughout the course in order to avoid losing balls. In addition to the challenging layout, Wentworth G.C. boasts superb conditions that are considered some of the area's best.

Good track but awful conditions
The greens are finally good, but the rest of the course is in terrible shape. I play this course the most and it is sad how bad the tee boxes and fairways have become. Hitting the fairway should be a benefit, but typically it’s just sand under the ball. I love the difficulty of this course and will still play here, but please management fix the problems. It’s become really bad.

Awesome greens
Very friendly staff. Greens were in absolute perfect condition, the best I’ve played in the Tampa area. Tee boxes could use a little work along with fairways but not much, and bunkers weren’t in best of shape. But very satisfied with the course. Will be back.

Once a pristine golf course, now a goat ranch.
I’ve played Wentworth a handful of times through the past ten years or so. It was once a beautifully maintained, pristine golf course. It has slowly been going downhill though. And this last time, it was honestly almost unplayable. It is in terrible condition. The greens are extremely shaggy and slow. The sand traps have grass growing in them. There are dirt patches everywhere there should be grass. I don’t know what has happened to the course over the years but it’s a real shame. The layout is great and the setting is beautiful with the neighborhood all around. It just needs to be brought back to what it once was. But until that happens, I will not be patronizing this course again.

Terrible conditions.
Sand traps were never combed and had rocks and debris as well as weeds in them. There were no tee boxes just dirt patches. Fairways constantly had sand where grass should be. The greens haven’t been cut in a long time and we’re slower than the fairways. It’s a crime and borderline fraud that they charge over $50 to play here.

fairways were beat up. we were notified that work would be done in the summer. until then i wont go back

Course needs improvement
The course needs a lot of work. The fairways had too many dried patches from weeds and dead grass

Worst shape I have seen it
Greens were sanded and got absolutely no warning or even a mention @clubhouse. They would probably been ok if not for the sand which made putting a joke. I picked up once on the green. Everything was bad shape. Tee boxes fairways just Everything. Worse shape I've seen a golf course overall.

Last resort
It will be a long time before they see my money again. Tee boxes were in bad shape, fairways not much better and the greens were recently punched. . It’s a crying shame that this course is in a beautiful neighborhood like Wentworth.

Worst course I have ever played
Course conditions left it unplayable in most areas. Fairways consisted of dirt, greens might as well have been a carpet. Tee boxes were you guessed it, dirt.

Wentworth Golf Club
The greens were in good shape. Fairways were not good and The Tees had no grass on most. It is obvious that the irrigation needs to be repaired.
The golf cart we had sounded like it was going to lose parts. It will take months to get this course back into shape. Our group has played this course many times over the last 5 years but did not play this season do to higher green fees.

Challenging
Very difficult course but keep on going back
Like every other course it is dry because of the lack of rain but the greens have been overdressed and are being watered
Their Pub resto rant is very good along with the service

Would play again
Being from the UK this course was a different animal to what we are used to. Other than the tee boxes and fairways being tired (probably due to the lack of rain). the course was a pleasure to play and we will definitely be back in the future.

Terrible
Should be a crime to charge $50+ to play with every singe tee box being a chunky sandpit. 80% of the green side fairways and rough are terrible sand and dirt holes. Disgrace charging that much, it was unenjoyable. Wouldn’t pay more than $20 to play here again.
