Nice hole surrounded by water Photo submitted by u314163303368 on 09/26/2022
The course is very good for someone new to golf not to difficult but some nice challenges
Buggy
We needed a buggy, the club has only one available which must be out of a museum, built as a cage. You had to be Hudini to get in and out of the buggy. After 9 holes we decided it was enough.
Starter course
Sort of get what you pay for. No putting green, chipping area, one net that is in terrible shape. Design means all you hear is four as balls are sprayed everywhere. Greens are diabolical - like they didn’t think about them other than we need a green on the side of the hill here. That said - it is super cheap and was fun to go hit some balls. So depends on what you want.
Very nice course in the sun, forgiving and great driving holes
The course is in great shape overall — the only real issue is the greens. Some slope is expected on a mountain course, but several greens had severe diagonal breaks combined with tough flag positions that made controlled putting nearly impossible. Most of us walked away with 2- or 3-putts we couldn’t really do much about. A bit more thought on pin placement would go a long way.
Buttrermountain
Beautiful area Beautiful scenery but course and greens were very basic and unfortunately wouldn't play it again but absolutely someone just starting off in golf go have a game
Big John
I wanted to get the first round of golf in of the year , 22€ cheap & cherfull , some fairways in bad condition , obviously with the poor wet weather since January didnt help , good few temporary greens in play , which we werent informed at reception , course lay out in parts alittle confusing , it was either the driving range or 18 holes of ' Margerine Mountain ' , I think we made the right call , for 22€ , I cant overly complain , would like to return in the Summer when course is in better condition
Not worth it
I spent €22 per green fee and felt like it was not worth the money. Bad drainage, no tee boxes were in use, several temporary green in use (and some in bizarre locations). Old pin locations covered with chicken wire. Unused temporary greens still had their flags left lying on the ground
My advice is to avoid this course anywhere near the winter months. If you do play, be prepared for a lot of wind.
Great Course and Perfect Greens
Course was in great condition, very quiet so no pace of play issues and the greens were perfect condition.
Great course for starting golf
Having only started golf a few months ago, playing at butter mountain has improved my game and confidence. With open fairways and few bunkers this course is great for beginners and is great value for money.
Great course, would recommend
The course was in great condition, really well maintained.
Would recommend to anyone looking to play a round there.
