Escena Golf Club

Played in late summer about a month before Escena is shut down for aeration and course maintenance. All the staff were very friendly from the bag drop to the starter. Pace was play was great as we finished in about 4 hrs and 15 minutes. Course layout is very nice. Bunkers everywhere and water comes into play on several holes. But a very fair track. My only knock is that the greens were pretty slow....and when we ended it was 113°. Guess the heat is not on the course though. I will be coming back to Escena.

Love this course. It's a gem that is fun to play.

On vacation from Florida and landed this awesome hotdeal on a hot day. Very friendly staff from bag drop to starter. Really nice course, but patchy areas on several fairways which made it tough to get a clean shot out of which is the reason this is not 5 stars. Greens rolled well and tee boxes were very nice. I knew it would be hot playing golf in Palm Spring and by 12pm it was reaching 99 degree Fahrenheit. There are water coolers through the course, but I would recommend bringing additional water to stay hydrated.

I look forward to playing Escena but I guess it must be in peak season not now. The course today was in desperate need of water as many brown patches on the course. Pace of play was terrible with no course Marshall to be seen. We tee’d off at 7:52 but we’re told to go to home number 4 because they were mowing the homes? Very strange. Because play was so slow we did not finish the first three holes. When we finished the round the pro shop was closed! We were not told this at the start. Golf is a very competitive sport but this mgt team obviously doesn’t understand this. Btw I played JW Marriott Valley course the last two days and it was in fantastic condition. Highly recommend. The course itself has a great layout. It wasn’t in the best shape but still fun. Only real complaint is the grounds staff. Absolutely no golf etiquette Whatsoever. They would run the mowers right up to the green as you were putting. Not one of them stopped to allow us to play without the noise. I understand they are getting the course ready for season but the fact they didn’t know enough to stop the mowers when in close proximity to players is ridiculous. I will be back though.

course was in very good condition for being first of August and 110 degree heat!

Had a hot time playing with my brother-in- laws and eleven year old grandson .Highlight of the day my grandson parred a par four and three.

Played here this morning and had a great time. Course has plenty of challenging holes and is fairly forgiving off the tees. The par 3's were a little challenging with multiple >200yds from the middle tees. Course was in great shape considering the intense heat here in July. Would recommend.

Summer golf. Fast play. Greens were in good shape.

Gardeners all about. Well kept fun course. Only problem I had was the greens were slow. Could be an area wide summer heat thing. I had fun. Fairways reasonably accepting. Fair course.

Apart from a few dry spots, the course is in fantastic condition. Greens rolled true and fairways and roughs were very playable. If I had more time here, I’d be back. Make sure you stay for a mojito. The clubhouse is well staffed to accommodate a wonderful apre golf experience.

Great course. Lots of bunkers but a wide fairway. This is definitely a course that all levels could play.

One of my favourites in the area, and I'm always happy if I can get on at a reasonable price, which we did today. My wife, a novice player, joined me today and we were paired with a fine fellow whom I will play with again later this week.

The greens were a bit bumpy and there were some dead spots so the conditioning is not what it usually is, but overall it was certainly acceptable considering the afternoon temps have been hitting 118F lately. Lots of water on the course and we were able to play in four hours with our 7:10 tee time.

All good, except my ball striking, but that is not the course's fault. :-)

The course is challenging , staff very courteous , worth the price ,definitely coming again !!!!

A week stay in Palm Desert with 100 golf courses to choose from I was very pleased with my pick at Escena. The weather was out of my control (100-115 degrees) all week but playing very early in the morning helped. The course was in excellent condition being that summer was in full swing. Holes were challenging but doable.

Only the bunkers were a little “baked” from the heat. Escena is one to play!
