Poor condition
All of the tee boxes and most of the greens are in very poor condition. Wasn’t worth the price!
Good starter course
Overall a good starter course.
Fairways are on the rough side, somewhat patchy but playable.
Greens are a bit bumpy, need to be rolled, ball marks are numerous.
Good Course
We liked the course. Only complaint is that the holes aren't marked. We started to replay one hole since there were no signs.
Good value. Fun round.
It's a shorter course, but there's a variety of challenges to make it interesting (water, elevation changes, forced carries). The course is in pretty good shape considering it's February. The pace of play can slow down and bottleneck behind occasional slow groups, but we played through and never waited again (18 holes in 3 hours!). Most of the people who play here are pretty friendly and considerate, so that's a plus too.
Shout out to Jojo in the proshop - good guy. Super friendly and totally on it!! This was only like our 4th time here in months and he remembered us - impressive. He gets 5 stars!

This course was fun
Had a great time playing, the greens were really fast so be careful of that and the cafeteria was closed so bring some snacks to keep you going. Other than that I had great time.

it would be nice if sand traps had sand.. the water ponds are disgusting... no hole markers i.e HOLE 2 300 BLUE 250 WHITES ETC.. never coming back

Go play this gem. Great place to practice!
Very nice people and friendly! Nobody grumbles because the group in front is playing a minute too slow or rules infractions. Very relaxing and enjoyable mellow course. Great for every single skill level! The greens are in really bad shape but it's winter so to be expected somewhat. When the restaurant and bar re-opens, after Covid, I recommend that as well.
Last Minute Cold Round
Good round, started to hail hard for a while, nobody on the course made it an even better round
Fun course
The top two cons are that lots of golfers here don't repair their ball marks on the greens and there's water, which means there a lot of duck poop on some holes. But aside from that the layout is interesting enough and you get to use most of your clubs. No super long holes that might be intimidating to some golfers. Plus we were able to finish 18 holes in 3.5 hours on a Sunday and had a fun round. We'll be back!
Greens were good
I had not gone to El Cariso for a couple of years because I got frustrated with the condition of the course. Unfortunately the fairways were not markedly improved, although for January the greens were in very good condition. Ultimately this is a course where I go to practice, so I am not too disappointed. I had just hoped that the course would be in better shape as I heard there was a new operator. It didn't look like a new group to me.

Superb Executive Course
Challenging. Bring all your clubs.
Par 3s from 110 yards to 225 yards. Par 4s are long enough and demand control.
Bet you don't shoot your handicap here.
If it's windy you have no chance.

Good executive course
It’s a good executive course, with a fair amount of challenge. Beautiful mountain views and layout. However, the greens aren’t in the best condition. Lots of bumps from unfixed ball marks.
What happened to ECGC?
Where to begin. The tee boxes are absolutely unplayable, chewed up, and every single one feels like an uphill lie. The bunkers are like cement. The pace was awful. Memo to course: when you see a group of guys in tee shirts, backwards hats, and gym shorts, they’re probably going to hold the course up
