About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Quail Hollow Golf Course, located in Wesley Chapel, sits a convenient five minutes off of I-75 and state road 54. This championship course, designed by Charles E. Griffin, has been a favorite of Tampa locals since opening in 1965. The layout underwent major renovations in 2011 that totally reconditioned the greens and fairways as well as partially rebuilt it to make it more challenging. Bunkers were both reshaped and added. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and the large bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides. The golf course is demanding at times and will test your shot-making skills, but it is a fair challenge that is not too intimidating for beginners. Four sets of tees make it even more approachable for a range of skill levels.

Great value for the money. Course is in great shape.
Pace of play was a little slow for a Thursday but an overall good experience.
Bsides some nice features, the greens were in excellent shape
Pace of play was outstanding. I was very impressed with the greens and the sand traps were strategically placed.
super fairway and greens
First time I played there, was surprised by how great condition it was in.
The course is well maintained and the staff are very friendly to golfers.
Right from parking the vehicle, the day begins with a friendly hello and a cart delivered to you for your clubs. The starter has words of encouragement and a quick explaination of what rules are to be maintained on the course. The course is well kepted as well as the unbunkers. The course has a good variety of holes which span from easy holes to challenging holes. Overall, the course was a treat to play and I would recommend the course to others.
great overseeding, old style ,large bunkers, generous fairways
They did a great overseeding of the course, although the large greens are a little slow. Old style, high lipped, greenside bunkers guard the greens. Generous fairways with most gentle dogleg rights. NO DRIVING RANGE, only a couple of nets to hit into. This reworked course is a great value.
Quail Hollow is a very nice course
Quail Hollow is the best course we have played yet. It is in great shape and kept up very well.
good
good little course; but get on early, otherwise it gets busy and slow after 11 am
Golf now got us a great deal
Course in great shape, thanksgiving week flow was a little slow. Close to home so would go much more often, especially if they had a 6 month snowbird rate that actually saved some money.
well designed course
very nice course great shape great price a new regular in the rotation of courses my friends and i play
Great public course
Quail Hollow is very enjoyable, playable course with a friendly staff. It is one of the better values in the Tampa region.
Good layout, tee boxes are the best I've seen on a public course.
this course has been gradually imkproving the past two years. Lots of top notch improvement such a their large putting green, swimming pool area, deck outside the club house, new tee boxes, new sand in the traps, and well maintained greens. Does not have a practice driving range.
Overall good course...condition, layout and difficulty
Very good condition ......fairway and greens. Nice layout, some houses but not overwhelming. Very good restaurant especially for lunch with reasonable costs. No range and only a small practice green. Reasonable speed on greens.
Plush Fairways and True Greens
My first time at Quail Hollow and I sure was pleased, the course was in superb condition, even the rough was nice for the most part. The greens were full and rolled true with good speed. If I had any complaint, it would be that I had no idea where the holes went or where the trouble was as there are no layout markers at each hole or on the score card. Now that I have played there and know how the course lays, I will surely make the trip there again.
maintainace workers everywhere
It's seems they would work on course earlier or later. They were everywhere. Sprinkler guy seem to follow us everywhere. It was like a race before sprinklers come on. Anoying! Greeens are slow and do not roll to slopes. besides that huge improvement with new ownership
Very well maintained course
Course show a lot of attention to maintenance from tee to green. Props to the greens superintendent.
Really enjoyable golf course. Tee shots to pretty wide fairways. Large slightly undulating greens most are protected by large sand bunkers.
No GPS and yardage markers are scarce (100,150,200) and par 3 yd markers. Highly recommend bringing your GPS. Very different Florida golf course - QH has large pine trees, especially on the back nine. Reminded me of some of the courses played in Georga due to the pines.
No practice range, but good practice green. New carts (no GPS). Green fees via Golfnow.com was very inexpensive.
The Course is Prepped and Ready
They have finished overseeding with rye, which is growing in nicely. QH is prepped and ready for a great winter season.
Greens are great and good speed
They had just overseeded but the course was in great condition with very nice fairways and firm, smooth greens. Comparable to conditions at resort courses with far higher pricing.
One of my favorite courses in the Tampa area.
The course is always well maintained and the greens are fast but not too fast, about 10 on the stint meter. The sand in the bunkers is like sugar. This is a fun course to play, one that you will want to play more then once. The clubhouse is new and the food is great! This is a full service golf course.
I liked the course lay out
I green roll true. the fairways are groomed and the ruff is not impossible to play out of ---a great cousre for the beginner and good for a little challange from the tips.
Play a round at QH
Very enjoyable round of Golf I played at this good course, with good players, good staff, good service. It's a challenging course. I would like to play more at this course.
