Quail Hollow Golf Course

After all the negative reviews, I booked a hot deal at this course agter playing here many times. The greens were in better shape than reported, with the exception of 12,13,and 18 on the back and one or two on the front. All of the greens were puttable, but a few were in needed repair. Most of the tee boxes were in VG shape and almost all of the fairways were well maintained. All of the sand traps were well groomed.

I was especting a "barn yard" based on the previous reports, but found the course playable. Staff was friendly and accomodating. I hope they continue to mend the few greens that need help and this can become a favorite again.

Well worth the cash, and round played in less than3 1/2 hours.

Greens are not in good shape

Horrible. Would be an enjoyable little course if they used some weed and feed once in a while. Fairways were cut too high and had scattered crabgrass. The rest of the course was 20% grass, 40% clover, and 40% crabgrass and other weeds I couldn't identify. Was not worth the $16 GolfNow deal.

Staff was very friendly.

I only play here because it is close and cheap. The guy running the pro shop is very rude every time I go. I figure 2 minutes of rudeness to get 4 hours of cheap golf is worth it.

I can only assume that if you are a stranger you arent treated well. I've been there twice. Had to try again as you must try twice to see if the service is really that bad or was it just a bad day. The staff are not friendly or customer centric. From having to give a rain check because of rain and slow play to letting friends go out a head of us even though we had the first tee time the guys that work there just don't care. Very Sad.

For such a glowing write up I expected more. Greens are in very bad shape. There are no markers at the tee boxes showing the layout and no yard markers on many fairways.

This is my second time here and it is a fun course. I like the layout, many doglegs, mostly 350-400 yard par 4's. A few water hazards but mostly trees to contend with.

Fairways and greens are in pretty good shape. Roughs were very thick. Playing there in the morning is difficult as the course is really moist and divots are either wet or mud!

I would love to play there when it drys out as many shots I hit well plopped and cratered in the fairway.

Greens play slow but not to many tricky reads.

This is one of the better "value" courses open to the public in Tampa Bay. Challenging enough to go back. Recommended!

Attractive layout. Doesn't drain as well as some courses. Very muddy in spots. Course is harder than it looks, but not because of tricky slopes or water where you don't expect it. It's designed so that a bad shot will cost you. Forward tees do provide an advantage over the whites on several holes.

I was playing as a single and had a threesome in front of me a twosome in front of them. The three in front of me would not offer for me to play thru. I had to play 18 holes behind some fairly bad golfers that hit more bad shots they also ball hawked for balls in the rough. It took over 4 hours and 30 minutes to play 18 holes as a single. No rangers on the course to solve slow play go figure. I should have learn from the last time I place this course. Never again shall I play it to many other good courses at better rates in the area.

Course is very easy to get to. Everyone I ran into was very friendly and welcoming. Starter let me begin off the back nine rather than sending me out with a father and his two young boys, which I would have done if I had to. There was a lot of rain over the past few days so the fairways were very wet and there was clumps of mowed grass, but it didn't affect overall play. The layout of the course is a basic what you see is what you get. No surprises. Definitely will be playing this course during my weekly rotation with reduced GolfNow bargains.

Course in good condition greens were aerated but still played good when they get green it will be in great shape worth the money

Course seems to be in good shape. It was wet from the hard rain the night before. The staff from the pro shop to the maintance crew appear to be welcoming. H2O on the course was cold, thanks. Two ladies on #3 let me play through so they could chat. The course is a real good deal for the price. I hope to play there again soon.

Good course, the only thing keeping it from being a better course are the greens. Too many are burn out & damaged.

Playing here as I write this review. Greens and tee boxes are healthy again. A few traps holding water but we have had plenty of rain the past few weeks. Had stayed away because of rumors about owner letting course go but it's not, it's in great shape!

I had heard that Quail Hollow was going to be sold for a housing development and after playing there, they should get on with it. The Greens were horrendous. There is a temporary green on #15 and it was the nicest rolling green on the course. They were bumpy and extremely slow. The pin positions were placed, on many greens, in the middle of barren dirt spots where our group had to re spot our putts just to have a clear path to the hole. This was once a nice course but it's fallen into despair. The clubhouse and pool area, seem to be a hot spot for night life for the 30 and under crowd but the golf course gets zero love.....

Tons of other options in the area that are just minutes away, with 100% better playing conditions at the same or lower prices.

My first time playing here. We followed a best ball tournament for the first 9 holes, and it was a little slow, but the second nine was much faster. Fairways were in very good condition, as were most of the greens. I found the greens to be a little slower than some others in the area, but the ball rolled pretty well. Unfortunately 4 or 5 of the greens had some very rough spots, but the rest of the green would be excellent. It may have been some fungus or insect issue. I enjoyed the round and will be back.

It's been 2 years since I last played QH and it is in great shape. May is the driest month in FL and they were pouring the water to the course to keep it nice. Greens had been dressed by very puttable. Grooming of course is top shelf. Fun layout.

A couple of greens have some bad spots. Fairways are great. Prices are great if you shop around.
