About
Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2018.
Quail Hollow Golf Course, located in Wesley Chapel, sits a convenient five minutes off of I-75 and state road 54. This championship course, designed by Charles E. Griffin, has been a favorite of Tampa locals since opening in 1965. The layout underwent major renovations in 2011 that totally reconditioned the greens and fairways as well as partially rebuilt it to make it more challenging. Bunkers were both reshaped and added. Water hazards come into play on a few holes and the large bunkers are strategically placed along the greensides. The golf course is demanding at times and will test your shot-making skills, but it is a fair challenge that is not too intimidating for beginners. Four sets of tees make it even more approachable for a range of skill levels.

Best condition course this year
Played lotta courses this year but this is best condition of all
Course is in great shape.
The course was in great shape! It is well manicured and plush. Nice layout for the price.
Thank you, holtjr65! We work tirelessly to ensure our course conditions meet our golfer's expectations. We hope to see you back again!
Rainy Labor Day
We utilized the $20 tee time special for Monday's, however, it was wet. Raining consistently for the first 9 holes. No lightning so we played through. The course was very soggy and saturated. I'm surprised they didn't shut the course down even after "cart path only" because the ground was so saturated. The cafe was closing as we looked to get some food. They only had a limited menu.
Wet but surprisingly well kept
Even though the area has been pounded by rain the month of August and I was rained on the entire back nine, the course was very well maintained and in good shape. There were only a few greens and tee boxes that could use some help but for the money and how close it is, I was incredibly happy.
Typical Pasco County Course
Played after several days of heavy rain and the fairways were very wet but the greens were in good condition. The pace of play was slow due in part to cart path only. Overall, I liked the course and will likely play it again. There is no driving range and the putting green is on the small size, which is the biggest negative in my opinion.
Rainy Days
Quail Hollow was in good shape despite more than a month of rain in the Tampa area. The course looked great, and although it was cart path only, there was only one hole that had standing water throughout the fairway.
Overall the course was a little soft, but otherwise a great day of golf.
Stay Away,Read all comments!!
Tee at 8am, had to walk off course after 2 holes, 45 minutes for 2 holes, and got hit into twice by the group behind me. Greens are terrible, layered in thick sand, by far the worst around this area! Management could careless, this must be normal everyday business for this course. I should have read other reviews before booking this tee time. There are many courses around this area that are much better. Looks nice when you look from a distance. HORRIBLE GOLF EXPERIENCE!
Will never play again
Course GM very rude by losing control of tee time by allowing a group to tell him they didn't want to play with us and making us wait
Great weekend outing
Slow play at first but the Starter got right out there and made sure that the play was sped up.
4 1/4 hour round. Not terrible for a Sunday morning.
One green on back 9 was in rough shape but the rest were in good shape.
A Fun challenging course..
This is one of my favorite local courses. Revitalized from its 80s heyday, this greenway course has both wide open fairways and challenging approaches and hazards that wind past homes. Always a fun time for the average golfer. Food prices and specials are good too.
Well cared for fair course
Fairways lush and well trimmed. Greens rolling good. Restaurant is full service with breakfast , lunch and dinner. Excellent well stocked Pro shop. A fun time for all golfers. Very friendly staff
Bad greens
The greens were very sandy and could not get a good read for putting.
GREENS
GREENS ARE IN BAD SHAPE !!! COURSE NEEDS SOME TLC.COULD BE SOME FINANCIAL PROBLEMS.
Nice Course...Greens need help
The course overall was in pretty good shape. The greens, however, were not good at all. Every green had patches of dead spots which made putting at times an issue. The pace was slow. It seems to me that the tee times were too close together. We had a lot of hit and wait going on all day. That being said I still had a good time and would play there again.
Greens were not good
Greens were a bit rough with patches of dirt that made putting a challenge. Rest of the course was very good.y
Quail Hollow is worth the trip!
My wife and I played Quail Hollow this Sunday 5/17/15. Course was in great shape and greens were rolling true. There were a couple of green that were splotchy and were obviously being repaired but all in all the course was in great shape and the employees were all very nice and helpful. Cart girl was good and got us three times as we played 18 holes. I would recommend this course to anyone in the future.
Nice course but greens need some work
Quail Hollow is a beautiful course; nice layout and excellent fairway conditions. Their fairways rival those of high end courses. Only disappointment was the green conditions. Lots of areas where disease of some kind has left bare spots. With those fixed, I'd recommend Quail Hollow to anyone.
Greens not very good
Fairways and t boxes where excellent. My only complaint were the condition of the greens. This being the time of year they transition from winter to summer it can be somewhat understood.⛳️⛳️
Greens need help
Tee boxes, fairways and sand traps were all in very good shape but something terrible happened to the greens. Large bare spots on many of them. The marshal told me they were in transition from the winter over-seeding. He must think I just rolled into town. I
hope they will fill-in as he said because I really like this course.
Thank you! We're glad that you have that opinion! Please come back again soon!
