Nothing fancy.... Great lay out well positions holes. The greens were not great. Great place to practice and get your driver game up.

I try to get out to this course at least once a weekend to play the back 9. For an extremely reasonable price, you can have the 9 back practically to yourself early in the morning. I usually have a tee time around 7:30, play the 9, and am home before 9:30. If you are looking to play to better your game, this is the perfect course.

The starter was a pushy old RichardNoggin. I got there an hour early and was going to the driving range and this guy was literally screaming at me to check in with him. The tee boxes had so much overgrown crabgrass, that you couldn't tee up within the rules. As you came off the tee box, you had to tap your shoes with your club to knock off the sand from all the bare spots (the spots the crabgrass didn't grow over). Fairways were about the same; very weedy and the grass was in serious need of a mowing. The greens were decent, but needed a mowing as well. This was a 30 buck round on a 10 buck course. Forget it, pay 10 bucks more and go play one of the courses around town that care about us locals in the summertime.

Fairly narrow course with sand on either side of every hole. Greens in good shape along with the fairways. Club house was just a trailer in a parking lot.

Be prepared to go to the beach......lots of sand traps and greens are really fast.

Have played the course many times over the years. It plays as a good dry or sandy course. The fairways are rather dry as we've had a few hot dry days with wind over the past week. With limited amenities the staff works hard to maintain the course and are always gracious to golfers, even one-timers. The greens were smooth and in good shape, not overly fast. There were several groups that started in succession in the 30 minutes before we started, so play was slower than I prefer. Figured on a hot afternoon the course would be pretty quiet. Figured wrong. Was enjoyable to take my time playing.

Close your eyes and listen to the sound of the water running over the stones in the brook or crashing on the beach. You'll have to have a great imagination to pull that one off.

It would be better to imagine all the scrub and sand that border the fairways to be lakes.

There is NO water but LOTS of sand everywhere. Bunkers on ever hole. Most of, if not every fairway is bordered by scrub and sand.

The fairways are in very good condition. The greens, with the exception of 1 or 2 are in excellent condition.

The course has lots of undulations and elevation changes, especially for a Florida public course.

We T'd off at 0748am, had no one behind us until 16-18 and thoroughly enjoyed the course.

I will be back.

One of the employees cautioned us that unless we've had lots of rain recently, which we did, the course turns into desert like conditions. That makes it perfect then for summer season in Florida where it rains almost every afternoon.

I will definitely go back and play here again.

This course is pretty good, despite all the sand the greens are very smooth. Ive heard plenty of talk about this course being ruined by the new renovation but I don't see anything wrong with it. It's a great local course to play with family or friends who love the sport and are not to picky about a patch of grass on the ground. It is a great course with a very friendly staff. I would definitely come back to play.

I would appreciate somebody addressing this and not receiving a boiler plate response that you typically do.My problem is that your golf staff that handles greeting, carts and bag service typically in the afternoon let you fend for yourself at the beginning of the round however they will block off your access to the bagdrop at the end of the round yet expect you to tip them for the pleasure of hauling your clubs from the golf cart shack to wherever you're parked. I know they depend on tips but I'm not inclined to be generous with this policy

Course was aerated and no one told us. Staff is friendly. There was a 10 mph wind, and there is so much sand everywhere on this course that I had sand stuck all over me--and I wasn't in one trap? Way to much sand, slows weaker players down--pace of play--terrible.

Horrible (re) design, augmented by very poor management and poor maintenance.

This course was re done a few years ago and has grown into an even worse course than before. It was obviously a low-bid deal that shows on every hole. The city should get their money back. And they should stop using this course as a revenue source (City General Fund) and use revenue to enhance conditions to a reasonable acceptance. Recreational golf is a quality of life issue and this course fails.

I didn't mind the course but the others in my group were not impressed. It had been a while since I played the course and honestly they have not kept it up.

The fairways were not in good condition, the rough areas were full of weeds and not like they used to be, and the greens needed rolling and smoothing out. But they did roll quite nicely if you hit your out correctly. Pace of play was a little slow 4 ¾ hrs for 18.

I was in shock to see the condition! I played this course every day in the early 90's, and hardly recognied it. There is sand everywhere! the fairways are shabby and the greens are slow and damaged. I will never play here again! Not even for free. Who makes sand the rough instead of grass? WPBeach does! My cart got STUCK in sand for 5 minutes. Beach without water!!

Nice people, but average course. Pace was very good.

This course has come a long way from last year. It is actually worth playing, I hope that they continue to strive to improve conditions! I will go back, soon. Great price for value.

If you like going to the beach then this is the course for you. Sometimes if seems like the bunkers had magnets for our balls. Getting out of the beach can be frustrating too. We really like this course though and have played it numerous times.

I have played WPBGC several times now and I always know what to expect when I play there. I love the layout and it is nice to play on a course where there is no water on a single hole! The tees and fairways are usually 7/10 in my opinion but the greens are always in good shape. Even if they are rolling slow the greens are well kept and fair for everyone. This course never disappoints but I wish they would rebuild the clubhouse that is no longer there. Remember to bring your easy swing because its always breezy!

I played this course six years ago and it was in good shape. Pace of play was slow and the fairways and greens needed a lot of work. This course should be greatly discounted until is is in playable condition.

there are no water hazards but the placement of bunkers demands accuracy

My foursome had played this course about 8 years ago when we flew into WPB airport rather than our typical landing in Fort Lauderdale. We come to Florida for a week about this time of year (March). It is interesting in that there is no water on the course but has massive amounts of sand if you are off the fairway. The starter was a good representative of this municipal course and was helpful and friendly to us. The conditions overall were very good and we would definitely play it again in the future.

It gets a ton of play from the locals but the pace of play was okay. The downside - no real amenities for food or beverage (not even a refreshment cart). Most of the players on this course are pretty old and I guess that they don't want to spend any money for a restaurant or bar.
