West Palm Beach Golf Course has hosted a variety of tournaments since opening in 1947, some that have included famous players such as Arnold Palmer. This historic course stands out from all of the area's public courses. Unlike Florida's many flat courses, West Palm Beach has an undulating terrain that provides interesting elevation changes. The course features elevated tees and greens and rarely is there a flat lie. The rolling hills are covered with native vegetation, palm trees, and mature pines and oaks. There is also no water to be found on the golf course, another rare occurrence in this area. In 2009, the course underwent a major renovation that made it environmentally friendly. There is also a full grass driving range and large practice area that overlook West Palm Beach Golf Course.

Bring a Pail & Shovel
This course has no water hazards, which is unusual for a Florida golf course, but it has plenty of sand bunkers and sand waste areas. Unless you have a very accurate game, expect to spend a lot of time making sand shots. Also expect a 4.5 to 5 hour round. The pace of play is very slow, probably due to all the sand hazards.

Decent golf course. Good layout. Not extremely difficult. Fun to play with nice true rolling greens. Friendly staff.

Nice course
This is a muni course that is always a challenge even though there is no water on the course. The greens were in excellent condition but the fairways were bare in spots. Nice overall experience

Good course, seen better shape.
Love the course and layout. Good value for price. But expect a 5-hour round, to tee off late and to hit a lot of fairway shots and chips off ground that is more dirt than grass. Greens rolled fine. Too bad they demoed the clubhouse. Hope they can bring things back.

OK for a municipal course
This is not a bad course. You can tell it is a municipal course and that it has minimal financial support. It has no water holes - unique for a Florida course.
My biggest issue was with pace of play. Hole 8 a par 3 had three groups waiting when we got there. It is a long par 3 with a well bunkered green. The hole should be shortened to increase pace of play.

Could be better
A very playable course. No water which cuts down on lost balls and the accompanying penalties. Greens were tricky and had a lot of pock marks. Maybe it is caused by a fungus what with all the rain we've had. Otherwise course is in reasonable shape.

Paired with a bunch of drunks from Michigan. Part from numerous cases of club tossing and the pair passing out on the 15 th hole after polishing off their box of wine, not bad course!
another great value course for winter
this course isn't the greatest course, but it is a great value for the winter season. got a hot deal for under $30 and it was definitely worth it. greens were great and rolled nice and quick. fairways were okay. no water on this course = you can play a whole round without losing a ball! i might have been in about 12 bunkers today so make sure your bunker game is on point before visiting. great layout. as usual, 18 holes took 4.5 hours but that is expected this time of year. i'll be back soon!

I have played this course many times and from all the tee boxes. the course is a lamb from the white tees but go to the tips and its a fantastic challenge. I love thefact that they have no clubhouse and its a bit rough around the edges. this is a golf only facility so country club snobs please stay away.
