West Palm Beach Golf Course has hosted a variety of tournaments since opening in 1947, some that have included famous players such as Arnold Palmer. This historic course stands out from all of the area's public courses. Unlike Florida's many flat courses, West Palm Beach has an undulating terrain that provides interesting elevation changes. The course features elevated tees and greens and rarely is there a flat lie. The rolling hills are covered with native vegetation, palm trees, and mature pines and oaks. There is also no water to be found on the golf course, another rare occurrence in this area. In 2009, the course underwent a major renovation that made it environmentally friendly. There is also a full grass driving range and large practice area that overlook West Palm Beach Golf Course.

Challenging
Long enough to test your length. Greens were hard to read, but that's the game. I'm a big hitter so I was very happy.

course is better than a few yrs. back
there was a "fivesome" out there what is up with that, had a hole open in front of them. All that happened was they were asked to speed it up. Not acceptable
First time, will return
My threesome played in 3.5 hours, with one group allowing us to play through.
The greens were faster than I thought, took a while to get used to.
No water hazard son this course but lots of sand makes up for that. Bring your sand wedge :)
Very Fair
Got to the course, paid the green's fee. Went to the starter and he had no record of me for the tee time I requested. Told me I would have to wait until something opened.

Great greens terrible everything else
Greens are perfect, if you like them fast and smooth
Fairways have grass but every lie is different, seems like the fairways are like the surface of a golf ball. Dimples everywhere. The waste areas are just that, waste areas. If you go in that stuff, better hope you have a yellow ball. But if you don't find your ball, you'll find several others.
Nice local course
Pretty manageable with plenty of fairway if you can avoid the soft sand which borders most of the course. Very friendly staff and customers!
Play an entire round with the same ball
The greens are in perfect shape. The sand rough is impossible to hit from unless you adjust your lie, but, at least you can find your ball. Overall a great course to play. I can't believe they have not opened the restaurant, though. The hot dog stand is it.

GREENS are spongy are in bad need of rolling hard to read overall nice coarse
A windy day at Palm Beach Muni
The wind gusts were over 20 mph from the north, making this course more difficult than usual. Once a "Major" tourney, this course lays out with both left and right doglegs that enticed me to swing a little harder than I probably should have a few times. Still shot and 86 and sadly one of my better recent rounds. I like this course because of the variety of clubs it makes you hit; every one in the bag. The best round of the foursome was a 81, and he always sandbags a couple of shots.
The greens were to lush, to long to have a strait consistent role, as the length of the grass really pulled the ball or slowed it against the grain; nobody made any significant putts. I've seen them better on numerous occasions, so it was one of those days that they just hadn't cut them. Temp was perfect for a February day in So. Florida so it was a really great day. There is a lot of waste bunkers on this course so stay on the fairways, never the less it really teaches you to play sand and various other terrains.

As always the course challenging. It forces you play your best.
Terrific Greens
Smooth, fast and big greens with plenty of pace. Lots of bunkers and generous fairways. Great course for all levels.
Great value
I liked this course. I come to the area a few times a year and look for a good course at reasonable rates. It was backed up on the first tee but play was good once we got off.
Very enjouable course for a senior
I enjoy playing this course. It is different than most Florida courses because it doesn't have water hazards. I am a senior, played the white tees and course was very fair.
good course for the money but they stack 'em in
Greens were in descent shape, however the fairways were like a cow pasture... but its a nice, open layout and is a fun track overall. For the money it's one of the best deals in Palm Beach County in season. We were suppose to tee off at 11:32 and didn't go off until 12pm. There were 4 groups on the first tee when I arrived. Once they got us out though the course design allowed for a good, steady flow. We finished in 4 1/2 hours
This course was a surpirse
Course was redesigned with water hazards removed but but sand traps now lining the fairways. After being in a few in the early holes knew enough to stay away from them and it made play much more enjoyable. Very good value. The course was in nice shape and we'll definitely play it again.
