Winter Park Pines Golf Club

About
Winter Park Pines Golf Club has offered one of the most affordable rounds in the greater Orlando area since first opening in 1968. The course has a traditional design that is ideal for beginners though it's also great if you're looking for a quick, casual round. The par-70 golf course may seem odd with a par-34 front nine and a par-36 back nine, but the layout manages to blend together seamlessly. The golf course has short par 4s and par 3s of varying lengths. There is one par 5 that measures 462 yards. The first half of the course is especially scenic with mature trees framing most of the holes. In addition to the golf course, Winter Park Pines also has a practice facility available. It features a driving range as well as putting and chipping greens with a bunker.

Tried and true course
Winter Pine is the course everyone wished was in their neighborhood! A few quirky holes based on the fact it Winds through a neighborhood. The front 9 force to use more clubs where the back 9 takes on an executive course feel.
Fairways and greens in good shape. City management of this course has been fantastic!
It’s coming around
This course has slowing been improving over the past year or so, happy with where it’s going.
Decent, even on a rainy day.
I hadn’t played here for over ten years. Apparently the course has been through some turbulent times but they seem to be back on track. Well done to all those that have achieved that. Staff are naturally friendly and not over the top!! Layout is great for Central Florida. The hills give it a natural character. Fairways still have some filling in, but otherwise great. Greens are excellent. Even the bunkers are looked after. Well worth the long drive to play. Hope they don’t go over the top with green fees.
Fun day
I played with three younger people and it was good. Nice folks and good times. Bar has nice selection.
Wild and different
A 5300+ par 67 (36/31) Jeckle n’ Hyde ride makes for an entertaining day. A 350 front-9 hole had 4 pine trees in front of the green demanding an approach shot over or through. Back-9 had 3 par 3’s from 200-220 yards. I parred the first and longest to feel triumphant. 18th has poorly placed a ditch requiring a lay up from the tee for an approach longer than the drive. Cut be a break!
Winter Pines
I've been playing this course off and on since I was a kid in the 60's. It hasn't changed much over the years, but is still a challenging little course to play. The front 9 is a full par 36, a bit short for long hitters, but for us old guys it's great. The back 9 is only a par 31, but the par 3's are long, so they almost play like 4s. Course condition was fair, the greens had just been sanded to protect from the cold, but they rolled fair and fast. Played with 2 staffers from the clubhouse and had a great time.
Enjoyable
A very pleasant course in decent condition. Hadn’t played it for two years and I’m most impressed with the work they have carried out on the course and clubhouse. It’s an easy walk at the moment for those who want a little more exercise. It would be great if they could lengthen one of those long par 3s and make a short par 4!
Issue with carts
I've played the course 5 times and the conditions are always good. The main issue is the carts and the no cart areas which are shown as yellow dotted lines on the cart screens. If you inadvertently drive into one of these areas, or get close in some cases, the cart will stop and you get a warning in the screen. You're supposed to be able to put the car in reverse and get out of the no cart area, but many times the cart will not move at all. Someone with local knowledge told me to pull up on the brake and accelerator pedals with my hand and this works most of the time. If it doesn't, you have to call the clubhouse and have someone come out and unlock the cart. Just beware of this because it is frustrating.

great afternoon outing
this course has had a lot of improvements and it really shows. New tees have been added. Greens were in great shape and it seemed like new carts with GPS .People very friendly. There was a slow 4 some ahead of us but they passed us through on the 8th hole. They are re doing the restrooms and the clubhouse , although small is comfortable , clean and welcoming. A real treat.
Best Shape in Years
I hadn't played WPP in about 5 years and was very pleasantly surprised with the improvements they've made over the last few years. The course is in great shape and the greens were all fast and firm. We played in under 4 hours and didn't wait once all day (10:40am on a Sunday) so that was great. Amazing value for the price. I'll definitely be back soon.
Great local course
Enjoyed a day with my son on your course. Even topped off the day with a precious memory of both of us getting birdie’s from off the green on hole 8!
