Challenging layout
First time playing here and was very happy the course is not long but you have to choose your shots. Greens were good and the course was well maintained . I can’t wait to come and play again . When you’re done make sure to visit the bar in the clubhouse great food and cold beverages 😉
Great time to try it out if you haven't
I've played this course many times over the years. I've played it when it's been great and when it was in need of attention. This time was very pleasurable and the course was in very good condition. The greens were running a little slow but in relatively good condition. It looked to be crowded but speed of play said otherwise. Great day of play in my opinion.
Overall nice course. Open and forgiving. Greens took some damage last year and overall have been repaired well. Still some scattered bare patches on greens. They need a good sanding and rolling.
Rock hard fairway, inconsistent green
No respect for the tee time!
Had long line before us for the designated tee time.
We could start 20 minutes late!!
Looks like no sprinkler system? There no grass, just solid ground.
The course is minimally maintained and price was not low.
Putting
The greens are a little slow. But overall in good shape
Green, Fairway
The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Fairways were an excellent condition. Greens were also in very well condition.
Score card shows the greens 1, 2 and 3 numbers location but does not mean anything. Course still needs watering.
Southport fun
Nice track that offers a good mix of challenges. Don’t be fooled by the length.
Ok
No ball washers, no drink carts, hit mostly out of dirt or spray painted fairways, clubhouse was understaffed, very dry and lousy conditions, had fun but in February the course looked bad. Drinks were fairly priced tho.
Mule farm
To be clear the people working here are the best. The course its self may be in the worst condition I've ever see any course in my 40+ years playing golf. It's Shockley bad considering they just closed most of last year to upgrade this course. Pile on a bunch of new rules and it is just time to write this place off for a long time. Frankly I hope they get it fixed up because the people who work there are very nice & they are taking a ton of abuse daily.
