Silverado Golf & Country Club
About
Silverado Golf & Country Club is situated just north of Tampa in scenic Zephyrhills. It is a par-71 layout but for low handicappers, it can be extended to a par 72 by turning the lengthy 10th hole into a challenging par 4. The area's natural beauty is defined by the mature oaks that date back over 100 years and the abundant wildlife, including red tail hawks, geese, and foxes. The landscape provides an excellent round of golf, which is further enhanced by the year-round temperate climate. Bunkers treacherously lurk throughout and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course offers some challenging holes but overall, it is approachable for a range of skill levels. Silverado finishes with a par 4 that requires a difficult carry in order to make it past the pond in the middle of the fairway. Those who strategize carefully will be rewarded with a birdie.

Great course
Beautiful course for the most part. One hole near a road, but doesn't detract from the course itself. Signage and direction a little poor. Completely missed hole 4 and almost missed two others.
Great golf and price
Course was in excellent condition and a pleasure to play
Nice layout
Very nice golf course, friendly staff, pace of play is very good.i teed off at 7am and finished the round at 10am.will be back again for sure.i started goin back playin golf again after years of not playing.
Nice course
Other than lots of bumps in the fairways and roughs making for a rough cart ride this is a great course to play. They do not have complete cart paths throughout the course. Fairways were 98 percent perfect. The rough was distinguished from the fairways on almost all the holes, but not unplayable. Even the sand traps were nice. Luckily I was able to stay out of them all day. The greens have character, lots of undulations, different levels, and different shapes not just round. Rolled really nice, slow but true. There are some weeds trying to move onto a few of them and hopefully, the course maintenance will fix that then they will have near-perfect greens. The weakest part of the course is the condition of the tee boxes. If maintenance could get those as nice as the rest of the course this would be a 5-star review. When the tee boxes and the cart paths are addressed this will be a premier facility that golfers will flock to.

All went well until the grounds crew was interrupting play at a few tee boxes, (12, 13). He wouldn't turn off the engine 10-15 yards away during tee off. This is a distraction for myself and other golfers, not just amateurs but pros alike. At a pro tournament this would definitely not be allowed so same same goes for any golf course. He has no clue about golf etiquette. Asked to turn off the loud engine and he said no because its his job to cut the grass on the tee boxes while we are teeing off. This burns the grass. Also the greens and tee boxes are getting worse each month. Way too much crab grass, this causes more strokes on the greens. A one or two putt becomes a three putt due to the poor maintained greens. This place is starting to get worse. They need find someone else to get it done right. Take lessons from Saddle Brook and TCP. In addition, I pay my golf fees not to be interrupted during play. We are the revenue for Silverado. I hope the owner knows what's going on. And finally, all trained grounds keepers do not cut grass at 12 noon at 90 degree heat with the sun bearing down. The nicest person is the lady in the golf shop.

The course was in the best condition I have seen iti in two years.
Fairways were very good and greens were excellent.
Hats off to the superintendent!
Definitely worth the trip.
Great Job maintaining the course!
#1 Green always seems to struggle but it is really not in bad shape. The remaining course greens are in fantastic condition, roll true and are a good speed. Definitely see improvements being made all the time. Driving range improvements are a huge change. Time for some new golf carts. Would really like to see a practice putting green and not at the first tee as I was told was previously planned. Lots of space where chipping area at #10/Maintenance Buildings are.
Great course
The course itself is in great shape the greens are really great the fairways also , the only thing disturbing is the cart paths need worked on and the carts themselves need sone care no hand shovels for the divot sand and grass and had to tie up the golf club cover . The course is in great shape .
Greens
There's nothing worse than bad Green's! Silverado Greens are excellent!
Great Value!
Course has made some great improvments lately! One of my favorite local courses around without having to break the bank to play a round!
Good
One MAJOR issue with the Course Temporary Ranger. On the 11th hole I drove the ball to the left next to the out of bounds white stake. the course temporary ranger saw my ball and went over to it. he waited for me to ask if I was going to play this ball or the other on over the. I told him I am playing ball where it lies. He told me my ball is out of bounds. He picked up my ball and tossed it 6 feet inward into a hole. I told him that's not golf etiquette. Again he said it was out of bounds. I did not have the chance to inspect my ball position as witnessed by my golf partner. So what gives a course temporary ranger who is not a Certified Course Official the right to touch a players ball until it is inspected by the player/s? The ranger is there to help players if needed and to keep the players on pace. The owner needs to advise these rangers it is not the job to pick up a players ball. Disappointed in this ranger. I scored this an average due to the rangers no understanding the rules of Golf.
