Silverado Golf & Country Club
About
Silverado Golf & Country Club is situated just north of Tampa in scenic Zephyrhills. It is a par-71 layout but for low handicappers, it can be extended to a par 72 by turning the lengthy 10th hole into a challenging par 4. The area's natural beauty is defined by the mature oaks that date back over 100 years and the abundant wildlife, including red tail hawks, geese, and foxes. The landscape provides an excellent round of golf, which is further enhanced by the year-round temperate climate. Bunkers treacherously lurk throughout and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. The golf course offers some challenging holes but overall, it is approachable for a range of skill levels. Silverado finishes with a par 4 that requires a difficult carry in order to make it past the pond in the middle of the fairway. Those who strategize carefully will be rewarded with a birdie.

Nice Course
Course is in Okay Shape, needs a lil attention here and there, but for the most part okay shape. Pace of Play was Horrible. Several Foursomes was the hold up and playing as a single, I should have been allowed through, but no Ranger Out to put that in motion. All and All Okay Round, Okay Course, and Good Price from Golf Now. I will Play there again and recommend the course if you can get a good rate.
What happened?
Played Silverado 2 weeks ago before the afternoon rains started on a daily basis & the course was in pretty good shape. It's never been my favorite course in the region but so many other courses have fallen into either disrepair, poor shape or increased greens fees that we recently decided to give it a shot & was pleasantly surprised 2 weeks ago at how nice the course looked. Not so on Sunday. From tee boxes with no grass to burned up, patchy greens & no inserts in cups in violation of state rules (courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Covid virus), sand traps that were about as hard as the road (would say 'cart path' but, though non-existent, at least I could actually hit a ball off 1) & greens that were ridiculously slow (reminded me of my days playing Nassau County municipal courses on Long Island!). All we kept thinking about was 'what a waste of money' & we won't be going back.
Had fun
There is construction of home around the course which sometimes is annoying.
Always loved this place
I've played off and on at silverado for the past 14 years, this is one of my favorite places to get out. The course is always well cared for, the people are extremely freindly and they have the best chipping area on the planet (no joke its huge).
Conditions are typical for a florida mid-summer, few burn spots but nothing terrible. The price and challenge for this course is a great combination and I'd highly recomend giving it a shot.
Hot day
Course was good only negative was the greens weren’t in the best conditions lots of dead spots but still playable also greens were slow overall it was a good day
Good Value
Course is in OK shape, starting to loose some parts f some green and some of the fairways have bare spots.
Good round
1st time playing this course and was a single with a 10am tee time. Starter was helpful and nice.I was able to join a group of 2 exceptional guys who made the day that more enjoyable. I played the silver tee's (furthest back) and it made it more challenging.
The course was pretty well maintained, tee boxes were is pretty good condition, greens were in amazing condition but rolled slow. Fairways could use some help on certain holes but pretty good overall. Took about 4 hours to play 18 with a three some.
Overall I give this a 4 out of 5 given the time of year were in. I will be back again to play this course and recommend to anyone looking to play a pretty challenging course.
As expected
Always enjoy Silverado. Great value for price. Will be back, soon and often.. Thank you
Not worth it
This place is in okay condition, but the greens are spotty & slow, fairways are okay. You can find much better courses in the area for the same or less money.
Condtions not as good as when I played 3 months ago.
The greens were not in as good shape as the last time I played there and were very slow. The rough was very spotty, with lots of bare lies.
Fairways are in bad condition. Very hard course to follow, no signage. Greens are fair.
The people and the layout are very good
The course is not in the best condition, maybe because of the weather but It's been better.
Summer issues
A lovely place to play but summer problems are evident with some greens with dry areas and dead weed spots. A few fairways are showing dry and bald areas. I will play here again because of the layout, the value, and it is a fun place to play.
