About
The David L. Baker Golf Course is an affordable public course located in Fountain Valley. It has an approachable layout that is versatile enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels. No two holes are alike but all of the greens and fairways share the same excellent conditions. Water has a prominent presence on this executive golf course with lakes and ponds running alongside many of the holes. The sloped greens are lightning fast and the fairways are tightly manicured. Beside the greens lurk treacherous sand traps that are just waiting to swallow errant shots. Although there are some tricky holes, the layout is gentle enough for beginners. It is an enjoyable and affordable round that offers excellent short game practice, no matter what skill level.

This course is somewhat challenging.
Very nice course. Long enough for our level. Friendly staff, close to home.
Under repair
Due to recent heavy rains, the course was severely restricted. We had to play the same 9 holes twice, consisting of 3 par-4s and 6 par-3s, and several of the par-3s were temporary fairway-holes. Had I known the condition, I would not have played the course. But alas, none was supplied.
Nice layout and conditions for the price. Only thing is be prepared to wait for a cart as they allow large groups to tee off together. There's a mix of some long par 4s and 3s, good for beginner- intermediate play.
Staff rocks
Course isn’t the best but I don’t expect legendary courses in MSP nor pat 62s, I’ll say the staff is really cool though, Todd in the front at night is just a chill guy and the snack bar staff is 10/10 kind. They try and time your meal after you finish one side of the course, A1!
Enjoyable until…
Fun course! Great Deal!
Was having a great time on the front nine. Stopped to pick up a burger from the snack bar and went on to start the back nine. We let two groups play ahead and started waiting at the tenth and apparently the two fellows behind us thought they had the priority to play through us because they were playing 18 holes and didn’t know what had transpired, seeing a different group ahead of them (they assumed we were playing nine and jumped on ahead of them).
We let them play thru and received nary a nod of thanks.
Other than these yay-hoo’s, we had a fantastic round of golf at the David L Baker Golf Course!
*Perhaps a few Marshals checking at known choke points would be helpful.
Golf course Fun
This Golf Course is a fun little course. We were not realizing that only one hole demande having your driver. I wish we would’ve known how small the course was before playing. Although we had a great time and Vic was the man of the course and helped the flow of pace wonderfully!

Course in good shape overall, they were plugging reseeding some fairways, but wasn't too bad!

Good place to play
I choose the late tee times due to high early rates for an executive course. In all game was good. Course was good for executive. My only gripe was the group in front were slow. Teaching someone who should absolutely not hit the ball. Take him to the range till he can make decent contact and keep a pace. Other than that, not bad. It's my go to when all the big course tee times are gone.
Geese Poop Everywhere
The course needs to manager the issue with the geese/bird poop EVERYWHERE on the fairways. Walked the course and had to be careful with every step to not hit the land mines.
Jam packed
They were already backed up when we got there at 6:45. Our tee time was 7:20 and we didn’t tee of till 7:45. We had to wot through 2 groups at almost every hole. There were constantly people on our fairway from other holes. Right next to soccer and baseball fields so people yelling and screaming during our swings. Not a great experience. Group behind us said it isn’t always like that but the group ahead of us said it’s been that way all summer.
