About
Meadowlark Golf Club in Huntington Beach is a player-friendly layout that is a popular choice amongst locals. Like most classically designed layouts, the course is short and tight but that also makes it easily walkable. The pin placements on the greens can be tricky and there are also some challenging water hazards that come into play on several holes. The golf course will test your short game skills but there are wide, player-friendly fairways that balance the trickier elements. Beware, though, numerous trees on the golf course make many of the tee shots tight and narrow. It is not an overly difficult layout but it is an enjoyable round that players of any skill level will enjoy. Meadowlark also offers affordable rates that make it doubly appealing.

Nice but expensive
Short course with small greens that will challenge your accuracy. Pace is good if you go off in the early morning. Greens are in decent shape.

Course was a swamp - No warning from shop
The layout of course is good. We understand it had rained 5 days prior to playing but the course had no drainage and standing water on every shot (other than greens which were good). Playing partners lost balls in the middle of fairways. The pro shop gave no warning of conditions other than stating cart path only. Very disappointing for playing the course first time.
We are sorry to hear your first experience at our club wasn't up to par. We try our best to inform those playing about the conditions with emails and signage around the club but unfortunately, sometimes the word doesn't spread. I truly appreciate your candid review and will work with our team to make sure we are doing a better job of letting players know about course conditions.

Short Par 4
This course has quite a few short par 4’s so it will surely make you want to go for it!

Good, not great.
Wide fairways for the most part. Greens are fast For some unknown reason, even after the crazy hot days, there are a lot of soft marshy spots all over the place. Too much water? Terrible drainage? The marsh mixed with crazy dry patches make it insanely inconsistent. Staff is really nice so that helps. Also, to the two guys playing behind us (11:43 time) you are idiots for yelling at us to hurry. Less than two hours in, we were on hole 11 so sorry you jerks play at record pace… but I did see you hit and you guys were not Rory. Cheers
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review with some great feedback. We do battle with drainage issues unfortunately. With the course being over 100 years old and no drainage ever installed, we do end up with some inconsistency with wet areas, especially in these warmer months when we have to irrigate more. We hope the "gentlemen" in the group behind you don't deter you from visiting us for another round soon!
Oldie but goodie
Got a great price with a daily deal for two. SoCal heat wave was in place so opted to play this course several miles from ocean. Weather was perfect on course. Like most all older public courses in SoCal, the fairway grass can be thin, but the green bunkers and fringe around greens was pretty good. A very nice round with minimal delays.
