Micke Grove Golf Links
About
Located in the Central Valley, Micke Grove Golf Links is surrounded by scenic vineyards. The course is mostly flat and measures to a reasonable 6,565 yards from the back tees, but it is not to be underestimated. There are some tough holes including the par-5 fifth, which requires an accurate tee shot in order to avoid the hazards on both the left and right. There are challenges in store for more advanced players but it is a fairly straightforward layout that is not too intimidating for beginners. The large greens can sometimes be tricky. Eight lakes also come into play throughout the golf course and there are more than 40 bunkers strategically placed along the greens and fairways. The signature hole is the par-3 14th. This 179-yarder calls for a tricky carry over water.

Great public track
Great condition except for bunkers.
Greens and fairways close to perfect.
Pace was great Friday but bad today. Could have used a marshal today.
Pleasant Surprise
What a great deal! Stopped in on a road trip for a 3pm tee time and got around in 2.5 hrs. Not high-end but in good shape, lots of water and very pretty, super friendly staff and conveniently located just off Hwy 99.
Perfect weather started slow due to some beginner groups ahead.
Beautiful weather and very friendly staff as usual. Beginning of the round was very slow due to many beginners and some large groups but after the first nine.they quit and the pace was good. The course could use some more cutting the fairways grass and invisible pot holes that startled us. Friendly staff was always a plus but it would be more pleasant if there was a marshal on the course to handle some rowdy and disrespectful players.
Need marshall
Pace on front 9 was good then course allows a few twosomes to start at 10 and they were not put together and lacked the good sense to group up. Very slow back 9.
Perfect weather but some unethical players cut in at the 10th hole that disrupted the pace of the play.
Perfect weather but the players who tried to cut in at the 10th hole disrupted the play and there was no marshal to those unethical people.
Wonderful weather and good partners to play with.
I couldn’t have asked a better weather and appreciated the pairing with good partners who were very friendly and gentle. The course is improving with conscientious efforts by the management.
Valley Course
Good variety of golf holes. Water and bunker placements were awesome. Great value for the money.
Thank God we have some dry days to golf!
It was a good day to play! The only real problem was the wind! Seemed to be more than forecast??
Played in 3 1/2 hours!
The greens were good but they looked like they had been sanded from a distance (which they weren't) strange?
Pleasant Surprise
After all the nonstop rain, the course was in really really good shape for play. We expected balls to plug and not get any roll. That was not the case. Putting greens were in great shape too. Bunkers weren’t great as many had standing water, no surprise there. It was cart path only which was wise. We knew this ahead of time And brought push carts. Overall, great day of golf and the sun even showed up!
Never Again
I've played this course a number of times, and pace of play has always been an issue, but today's round pushed me over the edge.
There was a tournament that started early, so non-tournament groups went off the 10th tee. We finished nine in about 2.5 hours, and when we moved to the 1st tee there were 3 groups waiting ahead of us--apparently, some non-tournament groups were now starting the round on 1.
When we asked to play the back nine again, rather than wait behind the new groups that were starting on 1, the pro shop sent us back to 10. However, we couldn't get on there without cutting in front of groups coming off the front. When I returned to the pro shop to explain the problem, I was given a shoulder shrug and advised to try again on the 1st tee. At that point we left, because we couldn't withstand another 2.5 hour nine--especially after waiting for 20-30 minutes at the turn.
The course itself was in very good condition, given the recent heavy rains, and the layout is fun.
Nevertheless, I wouldn't play this course again even if they charged nothing to play. If you're thinking about playing here on a weekend, you'd better allow at least 5 hours, because the limited staff show no interest in making sure that the pace of play is any better than very slow.
Slow play
It took to long to play a round of 18. Very slow play also there’s no Marshal on site to keep others on pace.
