About
Established in 1926, Plumas Lake Golf & Country Club has long been one of the Sacramento Valley's most treasured courses. First opened as a nine-hole layout, the course expanded to a full 18 holes in 1960. Mature oak trees line the lush fairways and small greens and there is also a canal that snakes through the entire property, coming into play on 12 holes. There are also strategically placed bunkers protecting the greens. You're in for a formidable test on this golf course but the rough is quite manageable and the layout isn't particularly long or hilly. Plumas Lake's 10th is one of the most memorable holes. This tough hole is a short par 5 that requires an accurate drive over a creek that crosses the fairway before you're faced with an elevated green.

Carts not available
First time on this course. We had to wait around 40 minutes to get our carts (none were available) and then had another group start about 5 minutes after us. No apologies were given for the extra wait. Will not be back here again.

The greens are as hard as concrete, pins are at the very front of the greens every time I've played. I typically play here when I can find a deal for $25ess. Not a $60 course in my opinion.

Interesting layout
Course has a very interesting layout with lots of par 4 doglegs and bunkers guarding the greens on both sides. The fairways are not as wide open as I thought and being the first time either of us had played the course, there were a couple of ditches and hazards that were hidden or we just didn’t see. The price was great, and we finished 18 in 3 1/2 hours. I’d probably go back, but there is some very obvious wear and tear on the greens.

I haven't played here in years.
The course is as much fun as I remember it to be. Lot's of trees that have grown much larger! Number 9 is ridiculous! Pace of play was great as it should be on a 95 degree day. Only down side was the pro shop, not particularly friendly, but efficient.
Old course, challenging but staff not very friendly
Didn't eat or drink so this is not a rating for the restaurant. Pro shop guy was not very friendly. Didn't even say hello when I walked up to desk. No smile. No direction. Just told me to sign sheet. Older gentlemen. Not friendly at all. Course is challenging. Definitely older as trees have made a lot of holes harder as they have grown. Greens are tough but in OK condition. GPS on carts doesn't even work for distances and approach shots or driver distances. No info at all. I'm sure it's only there for geofencing. Probably won't golf here again.

Plumas Lake Country Club
Great course for the money. Staff is on point , always respectful. Course upkeep is good, Fairways are perfect ,greens are slightly beat up, but still able to roll it in. The greens are what I enjoy most,. Defiantly a challenge , with all the elevation changes. I definitely recommend it to the beginner, to the seasoned golfer.

Great course
This was my third time playing this course. I love it, fairways are in good shape. Greens are a challenge. Sand was a little hard but with no rakes they were acceptable. I will play here again soon.

The course seemed to be full but still enjoyed the round.
